Must.Not.Kill.

Tisha puts a smile on her face. "You can just call me Tish.

"I graduated from The University of Nebraska. How about you?'

On the back roads-
David blew through the intersection, continuing straight ahead. Felice sped through behind him. A short distance later, a small road branched off to the right. About half a mile beyond that was another crossroads.

"Keep going," said Willie. "Straight on until I tell you turn. We'll be heading left then."

"Tish, I got a house boat in Lake Tahoe. Trucking is my life. Been that as long as I can remember. Now, I just drop you guys at the base, then I have a pickup and head back to the truck stop. Rinse, repeat." "Just tell me when to turn, Randall."

"You're not planning to stay holed up?" Tisha asks, curiosity getting the better of her. "It seems kind of... bad, out there. I don't think it will be safe until the military regains control.

On the back roads-
The vehicles proceeded west for another couple of miles before the next intersection loomed ahead.

"We're approaching the area southeast of Kimball," said Willie. "If we go straight on, we'll get little closer to it then I''d like, but that's the best way to get to Route 71. We could also go left here, which is further from anywhere with a lot of people, and get there by another route, but it may be tougher for this rig to navigate the narrow roads. Your call."

"Let´s stay as direct as possible and we´ll run through whatever tries to stop us." To Tish he says, "I´d say that the Truck stop is the best way to hole up at. We got quite a stash there, and I have just this run to finish. The end of days has to wait for another day!" David pats his pockets for a pack of Camels.

On the back roads-
David kept driving west, lighting up a cigarette. Behind him, the Porsche continued to follow. The vehicles crossed railroad tracks heading north and south. Shortly ahead was an intersection with a smaller north-south road, and beyond that an intersection with a wider road.

"Keep going past the first intersection," said Willie. "That road goes nowhere. The one past it is Route 71. That's what we want. To the right is Kimball, and we want to stay as far away from it as possible. We should turn left there. Straight ahead, just past the intersection, is Kimball's airport, and past there this road will reach I-80 again."

"About how far are we from the base?" Tisha asks Willie , not really paying attention to the road at the moment.

On the back roads-
David blew through the first intersection, followed by the Ferrari, and soon the second one loomed ahead, this time with a larger road. The roads were clear in all directions.

"We're about thirty miles away from the base now," said Willie. "Okay, turn left up ahead."

Tisha looks at Randall . "How you doing there Randall? ?" She asks, carefully checking him over.
Medicine 1%,[dice]0[/dice] Guessing this is a medicine skill, so not expecting much. Still, hopefully she'll be able to tell if he's sweating profusely or something.

On the back roads-
"I've seen better days," moaned Randall. "Like all of them." There was sweat on his forehead, and he clearly had a fever, but beyond that Tisha couldn't tell much.

David turned left onto Route 71. To the right, the airport was visible, though they could see no movement there. "We're going to want to turn right at some point," said Willie. The truck, with the Ferrari behind it, passed a road heading left.

Well he's still able to talk. That's a good sign.

"Just hang in there. We'll be at the base in a little bit and will be able to get you some help."

"I sure hope so," Randall muttered, closing his eyes. "It feels like my head's on fire."

David drove on, past another road heading left. A road going right branched off shortly past it. "Keep going, we don't want that one," said Willie. "It won't cut through." He glanced over at Tisha. "How are you holding up, Tish?"

"I'm alive," she replied. "How bout you, Willie? You got pretty banged up back there. Look better now, though."

On the back roads-
"Yeah, you too," said Willie. "I think I'll be all right physically. Mentally, not so much." He shuddered. "I thought I'd seen it all, but today..."

The truck zoomed past a small dirt road going left, and then a four-way intersection loomed ahead. There was also a railroad crossing right after it. "Not here," said Willie. "That one goes nowhere too."

Tisha is silent for a moment. She lays a hand on her friend's knee. "I know. Me too."

"But we need to stay sharp. This is our chance. The next few days are going to be momentous for human history. We owe it to the people to document it." (She omits her own not so secret desire for an Emmy. She'd had her speech half written for years.)

On the back roads-
The lever was closed in front of the railway crossing, lights flashing and bell clanging, and the whistle of an approaching train could be heard from the left.

"Great, just our luck," grumbled Willie.

David brought the truck to a halt, and the Ferrari stopped behind it. The train chugged past at high speed, though not high enough. It looked to be a freight train, with the letters CSX in black paint on the cars, of which there were many.

Tisha curses under her breath. She keeps alert for any more zombies. Even she knew them being stationary and out in the open like this was not a good thing.

On the back roads-
Tisha looked around in all directions, except straight ahead, as there was nothing to see there but the train as it rattled past. Car after car sped by, until finally they were gone - revealing an old man with scraggly gray hair in blue jeans and a plaid shirt. He staggered across the tracks, his vacant red eyes staring hungrily at the occupants of the truck. Tisha didn't see him until he was right up in the truck's grill.
OOC,Tisha, please roll Sanity. Sanity loss is 1/1D8. Since you've already lost 3 Sanity for seeing zombies, you can lose at most 5 more, so any Sanity loss of more than 5 counts as only 5. If you lose 5 Sanity, please roll Idea. Success means you go temporarily insane. Otherwise, you may act freely.
