In the garage-
Jimmy carried the rolled-up tarp outside through the open bay door. "I'm going back to the office," said Hammond, departing through the door at the back of the garage.

"Understood, sir," said Bo, looking Baldwin in the eyes. "It's a few barrels of aviation fuel. There's a lady State Trooper coming in to Brownson in a chopper that'll be running on fumes. It's just a few miles away, but she can't make it this far. That's the absolute closest she can get, so we need to bring the fuel to her and secure a landing site for her. She's due to land in a little less than half an hour. We'll also be bringing passengers out to her, but they can ride in my cruiser. There are a couple of scientists-" he gestured to Stephanie and Brigetta, "and their escorts who need to get to Omaha. I have orders to assist them in reaching Omaha as my top priority. They need to report to the Crisis Response Center there."

With Stephanie's help, Brigetta drew a small tube of blood from Wallace.

Danger

Outside the garage-
"Yeah, that's one way we can stick it to the man," Dave said to Mitchell. "We get this done fast, and he won't make as much as he'd like. There might be another way, too. We could talk to the Trooper about you know what when he comes back out."

"I didn't see it myself," said Kimberly to Gary, "but it doesn't sound good. Some kind of disease, maybe, like they said on TV, but it doesn't sound like any disease I've ever heard of. I understand why they burned the body, but it's a shame we can't examine it and find out more."

Jimmy emerged from the garage, carrying the tarp containing the burnt remains.

"I didn't see it myself," said Kimberly to Gary, "but it doesn't sound good. Some kind of disease, maybe, like they said on TV, but it doesn't sound like any disease I've ever heard of. I understand why they burned the body, but it's a shame we can't examine it and find out more."

"Well I ain't no doctor so the further away from any diseased people I can be, the better. Are you aiming to stay around here until we know more or are you planning on trying to head somewhere else?"

"I thought about that but Bo walked in and saw the body and never said a thing about it. If the Boss sees us talking to him, we're in deep shit. I think we should just get this truck fixed and keep our heads down right now."

Outside the garage-
"Yeah, I guess you're right," sighed Dave, continuing to work with Mitchell on repairing Wallace's truck.

"I'll stick around at least a little while longer," replied Kimberly to Gary. "How about you?"

Jimmy carried the bundle of bones and ashes into the junkyard.

In the garage-
Brigetta applied pressure to the injection site to stop the bleeding and then put a Band-Aid on it. "All done," she said.

"So, what have I got, Doc?" asked Wallace. "I never felt this bad before, not even when I'd been on a bender. And how the hell does a dead body dig itself out of its own grave, get up, and take a bite out of me in the first place?"

"We don't have a whole lot of time," Bo continued, speaking to Baldwin. "We'd appreciate it if you'd help us out, and we'd gladly compensate you for it."

Earl scooped up the fallen paperwork from the floor and brought it over. "First you gotta settle up before you can drive that truck outta here," he said to Baldwin. He showed him the papers. The charge for the repairs was nearly double the original estimate.

"I'll stick around at least a little while longer," replied Kimberly to Gary. "How about you?"

"I figure there is safety in numbers and I'm throwing in with the state trooper. Just going to keep guarding out here unless I see some trouble somewhere else." Gary says conversationally. "And I don't like the tone of the skinheads inside so I want to make sure they leave before they cause any trouble."

In the junkyard-
Jimmy shook out the bones and ashes from the tarp into the hole underneath the wrecked Chevy, returning the dead man's remains to the grave from which he had climbed.

Outside the garage-
"Yeah, good thinking," Kimberly said to Gary. "I'm with you."

Dave continued to work on the car with Mitchell.

In the garage-
"We don't know," Brigetta told Wallace.

"I'm sorry," said Stephanie.

"Got anything for the pain?" asked Wallace. "It hurts like hell."

"Ja," said Brigetta, taking out a syringe from her medical bag.

Baldwin frowned as he read the fine print in the paperwork. "What the hell are you trying to pull here?" he demanded. "National Emergency Surcharge? That's hundreds of dollars!"

"Haven't you noticed what's been going on in the world this morning?" asked Earl. "It's going to be harder to source parts under the circumstances. If you want to drive that truck outta here, you'll pay the repair bill."

"That's nothing but price gouging!" He looked over at Bo. "You gonna let him get away with this, Trooper? You want me to haul something for you in my truck, you're gonna have to settle this."

In the junkyard-
Jimmy brushed off his hands and carried the empty tarp back the way he came.

Outside the garage-
"We can demand it till we're blue in the face," said Dave. "The boss will never give it to us."

In the garage-
Wallace sighed as Brigetta expertly swabbed his arm and injected him.

It was difficult to hear what was going on outside with the exhaust fan running.

"Come on, Earl, you know you can't do this," said Bo.

"Oh, yeah?" retorted Earl. "What law says I can't?" Bo hesitated, unable to think of one. "See, it's all perfectly legal. Hey, if you wanna pay for his repairs so you can use his truck, that's fine by me. I don't care who pays me, just so long as I get paid."

Mitchell,[b]Mitchell[/b] heard two vehicles approaching from the north, down the dirt road. They sounded heavier than regular cars.

"Hey, we got some company!" Mitchell shouts to those inside the garage as he pulls his head out from under the hood to see who's coming.

9:20 AM
In the garage-
"The Nebraska State Police will reimburse you for the expense," said Bo. "This is official State Police business. We need that truck."

"You want that truck, you can damn well pay for the repairs now," said Earl. "This is a free country, last I checked. You can't just waltz in here and take it. I know my rights."

"The trooper's as good as his word," said Baldwin. "Besides, we both know you've got some code violations in here. You really want him staying here and poking around? Who knows what he'll find?"

"Fine," grunted Earl quickly. "Take the truck and go."

Outside the garage-
Mitchell couldn't see anyone coming from here. The building was between him and the vehicles, blocking his view. He did, however, hear the vehicles stop. Jimmy came back out of the junkyard with the tarp. "Where do I put this?" he asked.

The dogs began barking and growling, looking to the west.

Jimmy came back out of the junkyard with the tarp. "Where do I put this?" he asked.

"Just throw it on the floor inside the garage." Mitchell says. "Can you tell the people inside that we got some company out here?"

In the garage-
Jimmy came back inside and tossed the dirty tarp on the floor in a corner. "The mechanic said to tell you we've got company," he said.

Baldwin snatched up his keys. "All right, Trooper," he said to Bo. "You'll take care of the bill for me later, and I'll drive your fuel to Brownson in my rig. Deal?"

"Deal," said Bo, shaking his hand with a firm grip. "All right, ladies, let's be on our way."

"Feel better, man," Baldwin said to Wallace as he walked by.

"Thanks," groaned Wallace, who was still in sorry shape and looked to be getting worse.

Brigetta and Stephanie went outside with Bo and Baldwin.

Outside the garage-
Gary and Kimberly saw the others emerge from the garage after Jimmy went inside. The dogs continued to growl, but nothing could be seen from here. "My truck's right over here," said Baldwin. "I'll drive it over to the chopper and we can load the fuel in the back."
