IC-Alone Against the Flames(Dave only)

Z-Day - 10:13 AM Mountain Daylight Time - At the T-Bone
In the kitchen-
Dave brought the end of the hose through the door and into the kitchen. Now that it was no longer propping the door open, the door slid shut. He attached the end of the hose to the kitchen sink's faucet and turned on the water full blast. It wouldn't come out of the other end that was in the liquor closet until he opened that too.

In the liquor closet-
Dave took the end of the hose into the liquor closet and looked down the stairs. The fire was just as bad as ever.

On the stairs-
Dave descended most of the way down the flight of stairs and opened up on the fire with the hose. It writhed in his hands like a serpent, but he managed to maintain control of it and extinguish the fire on the landing below. He made his way down there and rounded the corner, where another flight of stairs descended further, engulfed completely in flames.
OOC,Dave, please roll DEX x 5 again if you want to keep fighting the fire.

On the stairs-
Dave sprayed the flames below him with the hose, soon putting out the ones on the stairs. He continued down another flight, and at the bottom, the stairs opened out into a vast chamber which was now a raging inferno.
OOC,Dave, please roll DEX x 5 again if you want to continue fighting the fire.

On the stairs-
There was no response to Dave's call, and it was hard to imagine that anyone could have survived the fire. He sprayed the flames, but they didn't even dissipate a little. They were more intense down here than they had been on the stairs, and there were far more of them.
OOC,Dave, you may continue to spray if you wish by rolling against DEX x 5 again.

On the stairs-
It was no good. The flames weren't getting any lower no matter how much Dave sprayed them. Perhaps Hammond had been right about needing to let it burn itself out by denying it oxygen.

On the stairs-
Dave sprayed and sprayed, but the flames weren't getting any lower. He thought he might be making a little progress, but every time he did, the fire spread to retake the area he had just doused with water.

In the warehouse-
Dave finally mastered the hose and was able to douse the flames sufficiently to enter the large chamber below. He sprayed the water in all directions, and at last the flames flickered and died. This room had apparently been a warehouse once, but its contents had been burned to a crisp. There was no sign of any human remains. He did, however, see that there was another exit from the room as he had suspected. On the far side of the warehouse, a set of stairs led further down.

Dave stops spraying water with hoes. Dave equips a wrench back in hand. looks around for any light source and weapons.
OOC,if the liquor closet hidden door can be open from the warehouse side? if yes then he will close the hidden door from warehouse side and heads further down the stairs. if no he will keep the door as is and heads further down the stairs.

OOC,The trapdoor leading back to the liquor closet is up two flights of stairs. You would have to start heading back upstairs and bring the end of the hose with you in order to be able to close it, as the hose blocks the trapdoor from being completely closed. You don't know whether or not you'd be able to reopen it from below if you closed it. It had a lock on the liquor closet's side, but not on the underside. The stairs on the other side of the warehouse go further down. There is no door there. If there ever was, it must have burned away. This area is also lit by overhead fluorescent electric lights, including the stairways. It wasn't just the fire that was providing light.

Dave drops the pipe and starts walking down the stairs little hurridly but being cautious of any sudden sputter from down the stairs and also being cautious of fire embers all around the place.

In the fallout shelter-
Dave went down the first flight of stairs, reaching a landing beyond which they kept going down. The fire had apparently not spread this far, as there were no burn marks. In fact, the temperature had dropped since he had started descending.

In the corridor-
Dave rounded the corner. Near the gate was an open switch box on the wall with a lever and three signs, one above another. The top one said: 'Welcome to the Geronimo Federal Detention Center. Use of Deadly Force is Authorized.' The middle one said that the facility was built in 1953 by the Department of Defense and the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The bottom one said: 'Reminder - This is a TOP SECRET facility of the U.S. Government. Failure to abide by all TOP SECRET protocols is subject to felony prosecution and imprisonment.'” The hallway was lined with tiles, and they went down at an incline toward an open door at the bottom of the low slope.

In the reception area-
Dave proceeded down into the reception office. A doorway at the back of the office led down the hallway to another door, which was open. There were two other doors on each side of the hallway. The reception office contained a desk, bare bookcases, and filing cabinets. Three corpses lay on the floor: two skinheads and a priest. They had various bullet wounds, including some to the head, and the priest had bite marks as well.

In the reception area-
Dave didn't know the two skinheads by name, but he'd seen some of them visiting the truck stop before on occasion, and also at the compound the time he and Mitchell had gone up to stake it out. He searched the bodies, but they'd already been picked clean of any weapons and ammo they had carried. The priest wasn't armed either. He was no forensic expert, but he could tell from the scene that these three men had all been moving toward the hallway at the back of the room and had been shot in the head from that direction. One skinhead had been shot with a small caliber rifle bullet, and the other one and the priest had been killed with what looked like a medium caliber pistol, probably a .38 or a 9mm. From the temperature of the bodies, they looked like they'd been dead for about an hour.

In the short hallway-
Dave saw that the nearer doors on both sides of the hall were open, as was the door at the end of the hall, but the far left and far right doors were closed. The far right door was also made of metal, unlike the other doors, which were wooden. Dave went through the first door on the left.

In the dining hall-
Dave found himself in a large dining hall with a kitchen area. Long tables with benches on both sides filled most of the room. The kitchen area on the right side of the hall had a series of ovens and sinks, as well as a refrigerator, from which a terrible smell emanated. There were pots and pans, along with other utensils for cooking and preparing meals and steel plates for serving them. There was also a door at the back of the kitchen area.

There was no food visible, so Dave opened the refrigerator to check on the terrible smell and see if any food was inside - and immediately wished he hadn't. Inside the fridge, an old Westinghouse model, was a lot of food that had been rotten over half a century ago. With the fridge open, the odor was overwhelming.

In the storeroom-
The room beyond the door did contain food supplies, and lots of them, in stacks upon stacks of cans. However, they were just as old as the food in the fridge. The most recent expiration date that he could see was September 20, 1961.

In the storeroom-
There was no sign of any of the things Dave sought in here. It was only used to store canned food, and an awful lot of it. He left the room and returned through the kitchen to the short hall.

In the short hall-
Dave emerged from the kitchen into the hall. Through the doorway on the opposite side of the hall, he could see some military-style bunks with footlockers at their bases. There were two more doors on either side of the hall further down, and one at the end of the hall. It was through this door that he could now hear a woman's terrified screams.

Dave really wanted to check those footlockers, he thinks he will come back to it later. AS He hears screams from the end of the hall, he checks wrench in his hand and heads for door at the end of the hall, being cautious he tries to peek through the door if it is open while taking cover.
