OOC,The trapdoor leading back to the liquor closet is up two flights of stairs. You would have to start heading back upstairs and bring the end of the hose with you in order to be able to close it, as the hose blocks the trapdoor from being completely closed. You don't know whether or not you'd be able to reopen it from below if you closed it. It had a lock on the liquor closet's side, but not on the underside. The stairs on the other side of the warehouse go further down. There is no door there. If there ever was, it must have burned away. This area is also lit by overhead fluorescent electric lights, including the stairways. It wasn't just the fire that was providing light.

Dave drops the pipe and starts walking down the stairs little hurridly but being cautious of any sudden sputter from down the stairs and also being cautious of fire embers all around the place.

In the fallout shelter-
Dave went down the first flight of stairs, reaching a landing beyond which they kept going down. The fire had apparently not spread this far, as there were no burn marks. In fact, the temperature had dropped since he had started descending.

Dave goes quiet as he walks through a landing and heads towards the next flight of stairs.

In the fallout shelter-
Dave continued down the second flight of stairs. It was definitely getting cooler. He reached the next landing, and there was another flight leading further below. How much further was it?

In the fallout shelter-
Dave finally reached the bottom of the stairs. In front of him was an open metal gate, beyond which a hall turned left. There was a padlock lying on the floor in front of it that had been blown to bits.

In the corridor-
Dave rounded the corner. Near the gate was an open switch box on the wall with a lever and three signs, one above another. The top one said: 'Welcome to the Geronimo Federal Detention Center. Use of Deadly Force is Authorized.' The middle one said that the facility was built in 1953 by the Department of Defense and the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The bottom one said: 'Reminder - This is a TOP SECRET facility of the U.S. Government. Failure to abide by all TOP SECRET protocols is subject to felony prosecution and imprisonment.'” The hallway was lined with tiles, and they went down at an incline toward an open door at the bottom of the low slope.

In the corridor-
Dave lingered in the corridor. He didn't hear anything in either direction, nor did he see anything unusual through the door.

Dave waits for some more time, scanning the area and hearing the sound of nothingness.

In the corridor-
Dave continued to wait. There was still no sound and nothing to see. How much longer was he going to stand around doing nothing?

In the reception area-
Dave proceeded down into the reception office. A doorway at the back of the office led down the hallway to another door, which was open. There were two other doors on each side of the hallway. The reception office contained a desk, bare bookcases, and filing cabinets. Three corpses lay on the floor: two skinheads and a priest. They had various bullet wounds, including some to the head, and the priest had bite marks as well.
OOC,Dave, please roll Sanity for seeing the dead bodies. Sanity loss is 1/1D4+1, so you lose 1 Sanity if you succeed or 1D4+1 if you fail. If you lose 5 Sanity, you must roll Idea. If you succeed at the Idea roll, you will go temporarily insane. Otherwise, you may act freely.

In the reception area-
Dave didn't know the two skinheads by name, but he'd seen some of them visiting the truck stop before on occasion, and also at the compound the time he and Mitchell had gone up to stake it out. He searched the bodies, but they'd already been picked clean of any weapons and ammo they had carried. The priest wasn't armed either. He was no forensic expert, but he could tell from the scene that these three men had all been moving toward the hallway at the back of the room and had been shot in the head from that direction. One skinhead had been shot with a small caliber rifle bullet, and the other one and the priest had been killed with what looked like a medium caliber pistol, probably a .38 or a 9mm. From the temperature of the bodies, they looked like they'd been dead for about an hour.

Dave takes note of headshots on corpses, and starts moving ahead. He wonders what Mitchell would have done in this situation.
