by HoneyDog
Vic, Alexander and Melody can hear the door open, and a woman’s shout. She barks something in German, and the companions can hear someone rushing to the entrance door, opening it, and leaving.

The woman is heard saying something else. There is a thud as she drops something heavy on the floor. Another thud occurs – it sounds like something solid being kicked. Then a sound as if something canvas is being unwrapped.
OOC,Vic can roll German. Anyone can risk a peek to see what is going on – Roll Luck to avoid being noticed.
Crozier,Lose 1 HP.

As Vic opens her eyes she sees the female orderly looking at her as she stands over Crozier. The woman sneers as she drops the thing she’s holding – a straitjacket. The woman moves toward her. Vic is at a disadvantage as she needs to get up. She can roll away but she will still need to get to her feet.

“Oi!” says Melody loudly.

The woman snaps her head around.
OOC,This gives Vic a break! Alexander sees what is going on, he is free to act.

Vic,There is indeed a fireplace, and a poker hangs by the firedog, next to the hearth. If she goes for it, it constitutes an action and she cannot attack in this round.
The woman’s expression doesn’t change. She launches herself at Alexander, swinging a meaty fist.
OOC,Fist: 1d100 8 Alexander needs to Dodge, or he’s going to feel this one. Melody is then free to act.

Vic saw what she is looking for - the poker by the fire! She grabbed it and turned back to the woman who had taken a swing ad Dr. Alexander.

As Vic is scrambling in the fireplace for the poker, Alexander takes a stinging blow from the powerful punch, and is lucky he didn’t receive its full force.

With a cry of desperation, Melody launches herself at the woman, but can only stumble in her weakened state.

The woman swings another punch at Alexander.

"Stop that at once!" says Alexander, taking a swing of his own at her. It goes wide, perhaps because he doesn't really want to hit a woman even if she is trying to clobber him.

Quailing inwardly because she didn’t really want to hurt the woman, Vic knew they can’t afford to let her escape with half of the seekers incapacitated, so she brought the poker down sharply again, trying to stop the nurse opening the door.

OOC,Sorry, that's a fumble. Vic loses 3 HP.
In her hesitancy, Vic cannot connect properly, and instead the swinging poker bashes against her own shin. Crying out in agony, Vic falls to the floor.

OOC,Retconned.

OOC,Vic cannot perform so many actions in one round. Thinking about it, the poker idea isn't really workable. You're assuming that Vic is even close enough to the door to be able to wedge the poker in - she would have to be right next to the woman who has already run away from her. Please retcon your post above. Vic can attempt to throw the poker at the woman instead.

Leaving Melody behind, Alexander and Vic leave the room. There are doors to their right and immediately opposite. The corridor leads to the left, and they can see more doors further on the left and at the end, where the corridor turns to the right. Of the orderly, there is no sign.

”She’s got too much of a head start and we’d be leaving the others behind,” replied Vic. She looked up and down the corridor. “Do we try hiding in another room?”
