IC - 4 - Medical Emergency - Kiara, Sam & Jojo

Kiara mentally puts aside her concerns about CENTRAL and the ARMs and rushes over to the Chief.

"Hey," she whispers, "are you okay?"

White continues to writhe and groan.

OOC,Is it worth me trying a science (biology) roll to see if Kiara can help the Chief? It's a long shot I know.

Sam steps out of the way to let Jojo get to work.

Flustered, Kiara quickly steps back, realising that she’s of no help whatsoever.

As Chief White begins to come around, Jojo goes over to check on him.

"Would everyone please just get out of my way."

OOC,Medicine 80 [dice]0[/dice] Damn, I'm being very unlucky right now.

He is exasperated with everyone being in the clinic and snaps.

"Nurse Richards, please get everyone out of here. I will send word when he is medically ready to answer your questions."

[Mephistophilis]

Richards hurries Sam, Kiara, and Moses out of the medical clinic. 'Look, we'll be in touch when he comes round, I don't think it'll be too long so don't wander far.'

OOC,Where do Sam and Kiara want to go? They'd likely have been told by Jojo that Virgil and Nicole were investigating Holzer's apartment which adjoins the clinic.

Richards looks at Dr Johnson with concern, 'You okay Doctor? You seem a little flustered.'

OOC,Richards Medicine 30% [dice]0[/dice]

'Might I suggest a quarter dose of cerebral stimulant, should bring him round now he's almost conscious.'

"I'm fine." Jojo says. He takes a deep breath and calms himself. "You're right. Let's bring him around."

[Mephistophilis]

Richards administers a cerebral stimulants into the intravenous line and within a minute White's eyes are open and he is writhing and pulling on the tubes and cables. 'Calm down Chief, you're in the medical bay, how're you feeling?' asks Richards.

White looks to be in his late fifties. His hair is white and unruly and his chin shows several days' growth of stubble. In a dry, croaking voice he says 'Oh fuck, I think I breached my suit. What happened? I was sealing a leak in the pipeline out by Station 1. My radio went, it was blaring static, then...I dunno...a few minutes later maybe, blam, something crashes into my helmet, great big crack appears in the visor and then black. So I didn't die then.'

"No, you didn't die. Luckily you were found and your visor was repaired enough to get you back indoors. Jojo replies as he continues to check vitals. "Still, it was touch and go for a minute. It appears that some ARM tracks lead away from your body. Were you or anyone else using them that far out in the field?"

[Mephistophilis]

White looks confused, 'We don't use ARMs outside of the colony building, they don't really work without CENTRAL's sensors.'

"Well that is strange. I'm sure they were ARM tracks on the video." Jojo says nonchalantly. "I wonder where CENTRAL actually has sensors. I would imagine it would be quite possible for there to be remote sensors outside of the base. But at any rate, you will recover but you'll need some rest."

[Mephistophilis]

'CENTRAL doesn't have external sensors beyond the immediate periphery of the colony. But it can send out the dragonfly probes if it needs to look further afield.'

White tries to haul himself off the hospital bed, 'Well, thanks for the help Doctor, Richards, but I need to get back to work.'

OOC,Are you finished with White? What would you like to do now?

"If you feel good enough, you can leave but I'd say take a day off from work to rest."

OOC,I would like to see if there are any medical records about people having nightmares or trouble sleeping in the clinic.

[Mephistophilis]

White hobbles out of the clinic with Richards's help.

Dr Johnson asks Richards how to look at the medical records for the colony. 'Everything is electronic' he says, bringing up a record on the clinic computer display.

Jojo finds that each record can only be accessed individually. There are over three hundred records.

Any research is rudely interrupted by a breathless Kiara, who bursts into the sickbay.

“Doc! We need some sedatives! Sergeant Montrose is drunk, crazy or both. He’s armed himself and locked himself into his quarters; threatening to do something bad,” she gabbles. ”He’s asking for whiskey, so we thought if we spiked it we might be able to get into his room and help him.”
