Travell to Antartica

In the coldest and most isolated place on Earth, survival is a hope, not a guarantee. Death and terror shadow your every move, and all paths lead to an ancient city where a horrifying truth lays buried deep beneath the ice.

Travell to Antartica

Post by kabukiman »

AAfter your return from the jungle, you discover that an expedition was sent to Antartica organized by Professor Lake. A huge mountain with lot's of fossils have been discovered, but much more exciting, some old ruins too! Unfortunely a terrible tempest destroyed the expedition. So immediatly, the Miskatonik University helped by the goverment decide to send another expedition and you have been chosen to be members if this new group called the Starkweather-Moore expedition.
As soon as you arrived at Antartica, you helped to mount the first base, near the sea (called Little America). Another group followed by plane to the moutains 3 days ago; they mounted the camp (called Bolling base) and the plane returned (the travell by plane is about 5 hours with good weather, and you were lucky until now because the weather is excelent).
You were almost finishing the last preparations, when you receveid the following message from base Bolling:

PROFESSOR STARKWEATHER AND TEAM MISSING FOR 12 HOURS STOP COMMUNICATION LOST EN ROUTE TO MOUNTAINS STOP HAS SUPPLIES FOR THREE MORE DAYS STOP NEED ASSISTANCE STOP SEND TEAM IMMEDIATELY STOP
BOLLING ADVANCE BASE
*** END TRANSMISSION ***

You immediatly packed all the gear you could and started the travell.
The noise of the engines drowns out any chance of communication as you fly over the vast, desolate white emptiness stretching as far as the eye can see. Your plane banks to the left and you get your first glimpse of your destination, but the glare of the sun off the snow and ice makes it difficult to see Bolling Advance Base.
Radio communication from the base is eerily silent as the plane makes its final approach. Wheels bounce on the packed ice as the brakes struggle to arrest your speed. There is no one to greet you.
As you climb out into the biting air, all you can hear is the moaning of the wind and the creaking and cracking of the ice beneath your feet. The exterior of the base is dark, but through the swirling snow you can just make out a flickering light visible through the small window in the main door.
