OOC,But we need the Lantern! Without it, we have no way to finish off the Lupine Thrall, and it's not easy to evade either. That thing will tear us to shreds.

I disagree; finding clues is the important thing. And now with the Painted World Sefina can use Sure Gamble twice. Plus she can gain a resource and play Athame.

OOC,I don't have enough resources right now to play Sure Gamble twice. I had been hoping to take down the Lupine Thrall this turn, but I'll have to stay here and prepare further. The Spirit Athame isn't going to cut it, especially with the way I'm rolling. We'll also have to see what encounter cards we draw. It's a shame you drew the Lantern last turn, or you'd have drawn it now instead of Amnesia, but there was no way of knowing it was there. Well, short of Scrying, but I never seemed to have the spare actions to use it, so I removed it from my deck.

Sefina loses Perception, Unexpected Courage, The Painted World, Blinding Light, and Holy Rosary.

OOC,Don't we get to choose who it engages in the event of a tie rather than decide randomly? I'd like it to engage me, so that I can kill it without wasting an action to engage it or putting you at risk.

No matter, leave the hits as is. The Engage action always confuses me, there must be something counter-intuitive about it. Sefina can Fight the Thrall, no need to Engage it, and or but it'll stay in Wendy's threat area. Any Retaliation by the Thrall is against the attacker.

Sefina feels a sudden chill, and her flashlight drops from her frozen fingers. The batteries were dead anyway.
OOC,Eep! :shock: I hope that since there are no Altered locations it doesn't spawn at all. And I thought the Lupine Thrall was tough! I think I should go first and kill it. I'll use Shrivelling to do 2 damage with The Painted World as Sure Gamble, then pull Sure Gamble, then fight it with my bare hands and Overpower to do the third damage. That leaves a spare action in case of tentacles. Will check (Will 4 vs. 4[Crypt Chill]): [dice]0[/dice] -2, failure. Discard Flashlight.

I didn't spot that. Yes, there are no Altered locations, phew! Right, go ahead. If Wendy can draw a Flashlight or cards with the Intellect skill she may find those clues; can Sefina contribute to the test?

Sefina cries out in horror when the wolf-like creature bounds out of nowhere and leaps upon Wendy. Desperately, she channels arcane energy and unleashes it at the monster, damaging it severely and sending it reeling. It leaps on Sefina, who in desperation wraps her hands around its throat and snaps its neck.
OOC,Action 1: Activate Shirvelling, spending 1 charge. Fight Lupine Thrall. Will check (Will 4 vs. 4[Lupine Thrall]): [dice]0[/dice] -2. Fast Action: Play The Painted World as Sure Gamble, spending 2 resources. -2 becomes +2. Success! Lupine Thrall takes 2 damage. Action 2: Activate character card to take Sure Gamble into my hand. Action 3: Fight Lupine Thrall. Fight check (Combat 2 + 2[Overpower] = 4 vs. 4[Lupine Thrall]): [dice]1[/dice] -5. Fast Action: Play Sure Gamble, spending 2 resoureces. -5 becomes +5. Success! Lupine Thrall takes 1 damage and is defeated. Draw 1 card due to Overpower. I'll wait to take my fourth action until I see my new card. I don't think I can help you investigate unless my new card has Intellect icons. None of my other cards do, and Arcane Studies only works on my own tests.
