Harry tells Butch to steer the boat closer to the porters and guides, takes out his rope, ties the end to the rail, and throws the other end to the nearest one.

Crowley slings his shotgun and looks at the canoes strapped to the main boat, to see if he could perhaps unhook one and use it to rescue the floaters before they're eaten.

He mutters grumpily, "In South America, even the goldfish are fatally vicious."

Alex mops the sweat from his brow. 'It's getting damned hot out here' he says. He stows the first aid kit and makes his way gingerly to the rail. 'Let's get these unfortunate gentlemen onboard before something else tries to eat us. Then we can take a look at any injuries'. He starts coughing dryly into his sleeve then looks around for some rope or a stick to reach out into the water.

Butch slows down and turns the boat to allow the others to pick up the men who went overboard.

You manage to recover most of the porters (you just loose 3).
Your trip continues in the river; the porters are too shaken to be rebellious... for now.
Your first stop is called "The tomb of the soldier". All the documents you have, agreed that it is very old of European origin. The Spanish diary only refers as "not having any gold" and the journal of the American expedition says that the interior is fill with some mosaics and carving that need to be more carefully observed latter.
Are you stopping there?

OOC,Can Alex roll First Aid/Medicine for himself/others? I suspect we'll need those HPs
'It doesn't sound like either expedition spent much time here, perhaps we would be better pressing on despite the historical interest' sighs Alex.

"It's true that the Nazis are ahead of us and time is of the essence," says Harry, "but we'll never catch that airship. They'll reach the site ahead of us, the only question is by how much. There could be important clues at the tomb, clues the Nazis have missed in their haste."

"Do we believe the Nazis even stopped there?" Butch wonders. "The tomb of the soldier does sound interesting. Any information we could glean may be of help but we mustn't spend much time there. We don't want to keep falling further behind."

Crowley is very excited by the possibility of visiting the "tomb". His love of mysteries and puzzles is evident.

"Gentlemen, I believe every mystery should be examined. You can never tell what useful information might be gained. I vote we at least make a preliminary exploration of this "tomb of the soldier". And as Harry said, we're not going to beat a zeppelin in any event. Perhaps it's better we are the second expedition but the more informed one."
OOC:   Are there any skill rolls - like History - that could be made to gain some insight into what the Tomb of the Soldier might be about?

'Well if we're going to be staying for a while I suggest we treat any injuries received by our party or the porters. They do not look very happy at the moment. But first let's take a look at these mosaics' says Alex.

After a cursory look at the mosaic he starts to treat the porters' wounds. When he has finished he conducts a service for the dead porters.

Crowley remembers a story about the story of a group of knights who had some relic and escaped to the great ocean. Maybe it's related?

A small, sandy bar provides the perfect, natural dock for the Santiago. You hike inland until you discover a round dais situated atop a small hillock—the entrance to the Soldier’s Tomb. A meager arrangement of ill-set, flat slate stones makes for a narrow descent into the cool, dark antechamber— a small room with a low ceiling, poor lighting, and a single doorway leading deeper into the tomb. Dust-covered mosaics color the walls in what must once have been rich, vibrant hues and seem to depict some kind of story, but their age and artistic style may make them difficult to understand.
Each player can make one roll of Archaeology.

OOC: Please tell me if you have a regular or hard success.

Crowley relates this recollection to the team.

Although it means nothing to him, Crowley attempts to make some notes and drawings of the mosaics, gently wiping dust and cobwebs away with his new handkerchief.

OOC,I thought about it (it's actually 8 points), but I don't have an unlimited supply of Luck. I already spent 9 points to make the Navigate roll successful. Still, I do have a decent amount left. Can I see what I get with a regular success before deciding whether or not to spend Luck to upgrade to hard?
