Cissi Wahlberg, only daughter of the late antiquarian Leonard Wahlberg, has inherited her father’s passion and full collection of rare books. She lives in the uppermost loft of 54-56 in Franklin St, lower Manhattan. This building has been recently structurally converted to residential use but still maintains it’s warehouse interior. Cissi’s brick-walled apartment is open-beamed, open plan and full of tottering mounds of books as she slowly catalogues her father’s entire collection. Cissi owns the gallery on the ground floor, ‘Doré’ an esoteric collection of contemporary art and archaeological pieces. It is managed by a sour, French woman called Maive. She also owns the rest of the building which is converted but currently empty.

Cissi has a very privileged background and has no need to work. She is out-spoken, impatient with fools and used to getting her own way. She has a vicious sense of humour and is very, very bright. She currently wears her hair short and extremely red; she likes to wear beautiful clothes. If such a thing can be found in ’80’s fashion.
