Cynthia checks up on a sleeping Dr. Sanchez before rejoining the others. She catches the tail-end of the conversation.

"I've been thinking about that mask thing. It looks pretty old and would probably fetch a lot of dough on the market, but we've seen the effect it had on Dr. Sanchez. If it allows whatever's in the pyramid to keep tabs on us, or brings that smoke thing back, well, we can't risk it. I vote we destroy the damn thing."

"I wouldn't sell a thing like that to anyone," says Amy, "but maybe Atauchi is right. We can hold on to it for now. We can always destroy it later."

Cynthia shrugs, knowing when she's out-voted.

"Okay, but let's keep it covered up. When we set off, we're gonna be more vulnerable than we were waiting in ambush at the ranch. I think we should prime some of those siphon pumps we that brought with us, with kerosene. We'll be we're ready to use them if any kharisiri attack us en-route, or inside the pyramid.
