5:10 AM - Sunday, September 8, 1940

Story, Elizabeth, Brook, and Tinker made their way back to the bombed-out warehouse, with Seamus trailing along from some distance behind. With the sky beginning to lighten, they were able to retrace the route again without assistance. When they arrived at the ruined building, they found it cordoned off, with an air raid warden inspecting the scene. This one was a tall woman of about forty years old, with dark curly hair.

"Let me guess, that's where your TARDIS is?" Tinker asks, "I have a feeling you'll have a bit of digging to do."

Seamus moved in to join the group. "I guess ya can add 'crunchiness' to it's 'TARDI-nesS'?", says Seamus, "I know someone who could sell you a new motor, no need to worry, I can get you a decent price?".

He looks towards the debris, scanning for Nell's body, anything valuable that might be easily grabbed, where they possibly could have driven their 'car' into the building and a spot to approach out of sight of the warden.

The building had been completely flattened, and it was now little more than a mass of rubble. The bomb that had done it had been much more destructive than the one that had killed Seamus's parents. There was no body, or parts there of, visible. If it was there, it was underneath the wreckage somewhere. There was no way of telling if a vehicle could have been driven inside or not, but the building had certainly been large enough to hold one or more judging from the size of the ruins.

"Will it be ok under there Story?" says Elizabeth, turning to her friend. "Though how we could get to it, I really don't know."

Brook glances at Seamus. "We don't need a car. We need our ride." She looks gloomily at the heap of rubble that was the warehouse.

Story smiles at Elizabeth and says, "Yes, she's alright. Thankfully we parked in the basement..." He looks at Seamus saying, "Kindly refrain from saying the word TARDI-nesS... it's very unintelligent my dear chap." He turns and scans the rubble as he continues, "Now if we could but find a way to the lower level."

Tinker had a cheap laugh at Seamus' joke, "Haha, fortunately if you ride it you're never tardy, rather always on time." She grinned, but quickly stopped when she saw the group so crestfallen. "I'm sure it is fine down there, built out of sturdy stuff it is, maybe we should ask the warden there when they plan on clearing the rubble."

Tinker tried to recall anything she knew about the Blitz and how London dealt with the damage.

"He, My Ma oft called me daft, you remind me of her a bit...", wondered Seamus, " Your ride? oh, I see, you had a horse down there. And here we was thinkin she a car". Seamus whistled with disbelief, he looked around, "oh, you must 'av loved her, but, in times of war it's best to grieve fast and move on. There's a bloke I know that'll do a good price for a fine animal?"

Story saw what Seamus had. He couldn't see any way through the rubble.

The history of London during the Blitz fell outside of Tinker's area of expertise.

"You can't summon it remotely Story, I guess?" says Elizabeth, looking hesitantly towards her friend. "Although if you could have done that before I guess we wouldn't have got in quite so many scrapes!"

Story still looking at the rubble says, "I'm afraid not."

"Well then, how about Seamus here goes and talks to the air raid warden looking at the building and maybe we can find out if it is safe to go down and retrieve it?" Tinker asks.

Seamus winked at Tinker.

He let the death of his parents well up in him again, taking that pain and letting it bring a tear to his eye as he approached the tall air warden. "Oh Maam, Maam, have you seen Nell?", cried Seamus, "She was in there last night... she must be under that, oh please, you have to help?". He ran his hands through his hair he asked with an air of hopelessness, "How long 'till before we can get her out?".

Then he dropped to his knees, scratched away at small pieces of rubble, and wondered to himself if maybe that Tardi were a painting of a horse... perhaps a valuable painting.

"Stay back, sir!" said the air raid warden with alarm. "It's unsafe! That's why I've blocked it off. I'm sorry about your friend, but it doesn't look good. That had to have been at least a five hundred pound bomb, maybe a thousand."

Elizabeth struggles not to grin as she hears Seamus speak. But he seems to be being effective, so she tries to help. Stepping forward she says to the warden "Can we at least search? If there's any hope she's alive in there?"

"But how could anyone have survived that?" the warden asked, pointing to the flattened warehouse.

"Perhaps if they were in the basement," Brook suggests. "They could have found cover down there, or maybe it's not collapsed on the lower levels."
