Next morning, the group wakes up for breakfast. In the morning the Inn is pretty empty and quite.
They meet down in the hall, and they find a reserved place where to talk and decide what to do next.

"Nothing about this case smells right to me," Michael says, shoving shovelfuls of bacon and eggs down his throat and swallowing cup after cup of black coffee. "It's just a hunch, but I've got an idea that this Thompson guy is still alive and hiding out with the kid. From what you're telling me about his notebooks, he's as nutty as a fruitcake. I figure we need to get to Coney Island-- not the fun one," he adds, with a toothy grin.

"Have a chat with these Andersons, see if they know anything about it. Sounds like it would be a good place to hole up. Thought I'd go talk to the lighthouse keeper, what's-his-name, this Dumbar character. Maybe you'd want to ask the Darcy dame some questions, too."

Kathryn fills in Michael about what they discovered. "What did you learn at the docks?" she asks. "Yes, we can talk to Darcy. None of us should go anywhere alone after what happened yesterday. If we're going to split up, it should be in pairs."

Ivy sighs inwardly as her colleague shovels in mouthfuls of breakfast. After the terrifying events of yesterday, she picks at hers distractedly.

"Yes, we need to stay in pairs at the very least. I think it is also worth interviewing those two women we read about: Norris and Weeks. Something is very wrong here, and they night have seen what it is first hand."

OOC:   Going to Coney island requires taking a boat, if you want to first investigate things in Greyton 1) talk to the lighthouse keeper 2) talk to Darcy 3) interviewing those two women How does what?

"Yes, I'd like to talk to them too," says Kathryn. "Maybe we should find out what we can here in Greyton before we head out to Coney Island."

Ivy gives a curt nod.

"I concur with Kathryn. Let's speak to the women first."

"Jake with me, ladies. Maybe I should kinda hang back at first, let you do the talkin'. These gals might be intimidated by my good looks." Michael lights up a cheap cigar and lets out a big sigh. "Which one you wanna talk to first? Hope they're good-lookin' dames."

Emma slowly picked away at her meal. "We would have to be rather careful with them, though. One word wrong and we'll send them into fits of panic instead, like with father Colby."

Ivy shudders at the thought of Michael trying to interview the poor women, but admits that she is hardly a sympathetic ear herself.

"Perhaps you and Kathryn should take the lead on this matter, Emma. The detective and I will make notes discreetly."

[Mr. Handy]

"I agree," says Kathryn. "They're more likely to open up to other women. Let's talk to Jane Norris first. That wave she described sounds a lot like what happened to us yesterday."

"OK, I'll keep my big trap shut while you ladies do the talkin'. Just call me Silent Cal. You can say I'm your bodyguard or somethin'.
