Welcome to the new scenario! The background details are being kept at a minimum in order to make it more interesting for you.

It is now September 1929. Things have calmed down a bit since the Owen Incident. Would you like to mention what your character may have been doing in the intervening months? Isadora will have stayed in the Boston / Arkham area.

In addition to continuing in her job, Alice has taken the University up on its offer of post-graduate education, increasing her mastery of the English language and her study of literature.

Henry has recently published his third novel The Music of Dr Cazlab through his Boston publisher however the publisher has run into financial difficulties and this has impacted the distribution of the work. He has been working hard in the library at Arkham assembling notes for his new novel about a hidden city below the Gobi Desert. The highlight of Henry's summer was attending Alice's cousin Emily's wedding which was a lavish affair (although Emily was briefly hospitalised after choking on a canape). Henry still has the sapphire ring and plans to propose to Alice before the decade is out.

Alice is looking forward to that, especially since she caught the bouquet at the wedding.

Some of you might remember Margaret Hannigan, who your characters met in her capacity as secretary to the Dean of Students. Shortly after, in March, Margaret quit to have her baby, but since then has been diagnosed with a severe case of what we now call post-partum depression. Although she had become friendly, particularly with Isadora, she gradually began to see less and less of other people, being confined to her house by her husband, Dr. Thomas Hannigan, for a period of prescribed rest. Not much is heard about her, until one morning on the 9th September…

Just an update on Harrison. He finished off the semester and then went off on an extended camping trip for several weeks over the summer. He needed to process everything he had seen. The events made him even more committed to his Parapsychology "interests" and when he returned to school, he vowed to do more to find other paranormal phenomenon.

Is everyone okay with this one? There doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm for it. :|

This adventure is a bit different, it's not strictly controlled and I want to leave it to you guys to figure out what steps you want to take. The story is simple i.e. what made Margaret kill her husband. I don't want to give too much away which is why I'm not giving you any avenues of investigation, but if you need it I can give some hints about what direction to take.

I'm fine with it. I'm not taking the lead because my character doesn't really know Margaret and everyone else is more of a group that has run together and I don't want to be too forward in thrusting myself into their business. I would welcome an invitation to investigate...

It seemed as though the first avenues of investigation are Margaret, the home and the deceased husband's body/autopsy.

I'm fine with it too. I had just posted most recently and was waiting for someone to reply to my post, which happened today.

Okay, that’s good to hear.

Margaret has been arrested for murder and incarcerated in an asylum. She will not necessarily be completely inaccessible, but you might want to start with something less challenging. Is there anyone in Arkham who might be willing to talk to you about the case?

Visiting Margaret first seems a more natural move for the characters.

But you don’t get to visit people who have just been arrested for murder, unless you’re their lawyer. Why not try and find out more about what happened?

Maybe we could talk to Elizabeth first.

Yes, and you also made a friend on the police force during the last adventure. Don't forget, the characters have some clout with the Arkham PD, but will need to do the groundwork first before you try barging into asylums and autopsies.

Oh, that's right, Inspector Harden! I'd forgotten. We should go talk to him and see what he knows, hinting that we suspect that something unusual could be involved.

Good idea! Thanks for the hint.

So, Elizabeth first, Harden second.

You don't know where Elizabeth is though. She won't be at the house because of the murder.

Then let's see Inspector Harden first. He might know where she is, or be able to find out for us.

Let's begin with Harden then? If you're happy with that I can begin the new thread tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, I checked the starting date of the first investigation Isadora was involved in, and it's 1920, so now in 1929 she is 43!

At one point in the 1960s she plans to retire, open her own palm reading business and occult shop, and act as the friendly but kooky consultant to a group of meddling kids.

I'll be away from tomorrow until Friday without my books so things will slow down I'm afraid. I'll pick up my end on Friday when I get back. In the meantime, Happy Holidays! Sorry about the delay.

Everybody please keep track of your SAN in this adventure, and update your character profile as you go.

I thought you might like to know that the author of 'The Bosworth House' is reading along and enjoying your exploits.

Thanks Lee. I hope we do it justice, I think it's one of my favourites so far.

I'm sorry everyone that it's ground to a halt right now, but it's important for this one that everyone can contribute, so we have to wait for evil_scientist to return. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Sorry for dropping out!

I'm back, or, let's say, slowly returning to the fold. I need some time to catch up, but I still want to continue this game!

Is everyone okay? What would you like your next move to be? You'll be able to visit Margaret at the weekend, once you present Dr. Dwight's letter to Beth. Margaret's parents will still need a successful Persuade roll to allow it.

I'm okay. I'd be the one to try the Persuade roll first, as I have the best skill. We can go visit Beth and ask their parents for permission to visit her next.

I'm ready to leave.

Another thing we'll need to do is to research the people whose names we just learned. We should do that now, while places are open, and visit Beth in the evening.

Guys, there's no word from evil_scientist yet. This game is unplayable without the Isadora character, and I'd rather not give it away to someone else, so I apologise for having to put the game on hold until evil_scientist can return.

I'm sorry about this, I hope you understand. Hopefully he will return soon.
