The operator connects Cynthia's call through to the Harvard University library, but there is no answer at this late hour.
Mr. Handy wrote:"Did Jackson say anything about the manuscript for the book he's writing, or where it might be?" asks Amy.
"No," says Jonah, "There won't be a manuscript as such I'm afraid. Jackson purely makes notes like those he sent from Kenya whilst in the field.

"He would started working on the manuscript after returning home normally. So sadly that won't happen now."

Jackson's friend looks thoughtful for a moment, "I wonder what went on in China though; Jackson said that he'd made good progress with his investigation, so there must be notes, normally he'd send them to me before leaving the country, but I didn't receive anything from him before he wired from London."

"The notes mentioned EC, who must be Erica Carlyle," says Amy. "We arranged a meeting for tomorrow morning with her lawyer, Bradley Gray, in the hopes of arranging a meeting with her. I had planned for Jackson to join some of us there, but..." She sniffles again.

Cynthia replaces the reciever a little harder than she should and returns to the others.

"No dice at Harvard, I'll try again tomorrow while I'm looking into Huston."

She cocks her head at Sanchez.

"You showed Amy the notes I guess? We should skedaddle anyhow and leave our hosts in peace."

Cynthia sighs and hands the notes to Amy.

“Steel yourself; this don’t make for easy reading.”

Amy sits down in a nearby chair before reading the notes. As she does, she slumps over and the tears begin to flow freely again.

Luther gives Marcus a look and rolls his eyes. A bit too much female emotion for his comfort.

Marcus shares his friend's annoyance, though he's more uncomfortable than anything.

"We'll get those bastards, Amy." He tells her, offering the only comfort he knows.

"Does anyone wants to see the imports tomorrow morning? I don't liketo split, but for now they only seem to attack individuals".

“Once I’ve made the phone call to Harvard and asked around about Huston, I’ll tag along,” says Cynthia.

The Hall of Mexico and Central America at The American Museum of Natural History - New York
8:30am - Friday 16th January, 1925

The investigators meet bright and early in Nemesio's office at the museum, there is still an hour before the meeting that Amy has arranged with Bradley Grey, Erica Carlyle's lawyer, at 9:30am and so plenty of time to get to the offices of Whittleby and Grey on West 57th Street. The snow has stopped today and the skies are blue, although it is still bitterly cold and snow is heaped on the sidewalks. The El trains are badly disrupted by the wintery conditions and Manhattan commuters face another miserable day; everyone hopes that the city will thaw during the weekend.

Before the group split into two Cynthia phones Harvard again and is relieved to find that Miriam Atwright starts work early, she answers the phone on the second ring:

<<Hello Harvard University Library, Miriam Atwright speaking.>>
OOC:   Regarding Doctor Huston's notes about Carlyle, I'd have given some information for free if any of the investigators had 50%+ Medicine, but you all have 1%!

So I'll give it here for anyone who passes either a Law roll or HARD EDU roll. Make one roll only per investigator please.
Law Skill success or HARD Knowledge (EDU) Success,In the event of Doctor Huston's death, the records from his practice would normally be sealed and stored at the Medical Affairs Board. It won't be easy to gain access.

"Dr. Huston's notes would have been sent to the Medical Affairs Board after he was declared dead," says Amy, "but it won't be easy to get at them."
OOC,EDU roll (76 / 2 = 38% stat) about the notes: [dice]0[/dice]

"Not really my area of expertise," Marcus admits. "Don't think the board would be the kind of place we could easily break into either."
