"The police are almost here," says Amy, hearing the sirens.

“You’re right,” Cynthia grimaces. “Let’s hope they’re not crooked ones. We’d better pocket this stuff we’ve found in case it gets ‘lost’ in the evidence locker.”

She surveys the scene, sighing sadly.

“At leads this exonerates Adams; Rebecca and the press will see to that.”

He promptly goes over to the balcony looking for the fire escape.

Cynthia smirks. ”Well, if I ain’t, then we’re all screwed...”

"We'll be all right as long as we all stick together," says Amy.

Rebecca makes her way back into the room.

"Well the whole city is going to know what happened before the end of today, did I miss anything while I was downstairs?".

“We found a few clues we don’t really want the cops to know we got, but that’s about it. We’ll show you when it’s safe. In the meantime, can you get a photographer up here? A picture paints a thousand words and all that jazz.”

“Peachy. Let’s hope the cops don’t stop him on the way. I wonder if anyone else has a camera around here? Y’know, just in case.”

Inside room 410 the investigators hear the cop cars pull up outside, a minute later they hear the sound of heavy footsteps jogging along the corridor.

The first cop is a burly sergeant, his revolver is drawn as he steps through the door into Jackson's room, "Police! Nobody moo..."

He stops mid-sentence, visibly shaken by the scale of the bloodshed inside Room 410 of the Hotel Chelsea, "...Holy Mary, Mother of God."

"Step away from the bodies, what the hell?"

Two other cops follow him through the door, one gags and barely stops himself vomiting when he sees Jackson's exposed intestines.

All three cops look panicked, all have their handguns more or less aimed at the investigators.
