Tobias looked at the woman with the sympathetic charming smile and took out his wallet. He figured he’d be a bit grouchy too if he was stuck working a dead-end job at a gas station with no hope of promotion. “Excuse me, miss, how much would seven photocopies cost?”

"That'll put you back fifteen." comes the reply.

The woman looks up, giving Tobias a look that makes it clear she views this as a stupid question. "Dollars."

Catherine waits in the car while Tobias talks to the attendant.

Tobias had some difficulty managing his smile. As someone who seen quite a lot in his past, he'd say that this wasn't the worst he had ever seen, but he had still felt a bit insulted to think that the woman in front of him would charge such a high price. He attempted to try and lower the prices a bit. “Fair Madame, would it be cheaper than to print this on recycled A4 paper, black-and-white, with no gloss or paper bag? I think we can do without a proper photocopy. It'll do.”

The woman seems uncharmed by Tobias, but she gives a small nod in acquiescence. "That'll do. Still be nice if you bought something, though."

Tobias chuckled slightly. “Sure. I’ll take a bag of chips, two bars of chocolate, and a box of cereal. Does that make you feel better, Madam?”

"Call me Cheryll. I ain't that old."

She rings up Tobias' purchase. "So why you in this neck of the woods anyway?"

"Well, Miss Cheryll, thanks for your help. I'm actually trying to find my granddaughter; I believe she had went to Geverlon." Tobias said amicably, as he paid for everything and then prepared to head for the door.

Daniel will head over to the garage and see if anyone is working in there at the moment.

"Geverlon? Kinda a sleepy town. Can't imagine what anyone would want out there. They mostly keep to themselves.

"We're on the way to the town and don't get that many customers. If she stopped in here I'd let you know, but honestly I don't remember seeing any young girls come in here alone."

Daniel finds someone working in the garage.A heavyset man in dirty greese covered overalls is just finishing up work on a vehicle when the cop enters. He gets up and smiles at him jovially.

"Well howdy! Name's Hezekiah Smith. What can I do you for?" He looks a little bit like famed comic Drew Carey.

When Catherine sees Daniel head over to the garage, she joins him.

Tobias,Cheryll seems to be telling the truth, insofar as she has not seen Karen. But when you mention Geverlon, her left eyebrow raises ever so slightly. It could mean nothing or anything, but there seems to be something about the mention of the town that led her to react.

Seeing Catherine enter, Hezekiah's grin widens.

"Is this the missus? Pleased to meet ya. I'm Hezekiah Smith, the mechanic 'round these parts. I'd shake your hand but...." he holds his up, both of which are strained with grease.

Tobias took note of this, thanked her for her assistance, and walked back towards the car with photocopies and food.

Daniel corrects the man, "Oh no my girl is back home. I'm Daniel Parker and this is Catherine Levesque. We're actually out this way looking for my niece." Daniel shows the mechanic a picture of Karen on his phone. "Have you seen her by any chance?"

After seeing no one in the car, Tobias placed a few things in the backseat before walking off towards the garage to see if there's anyone there.

"We believe she may have gone to Geverlon," adds Catherine.

Hezekiah gives a friendly nod to Tobias, but seems concerned with the new information.

"Your niece? She uh, run away or something? I'm right sorry to hear that, I am. I go out to Geverlon on occasion, if one of them folk have car trouble or something. It's a quiet community, no trouble. No disrespect, but I don't exactly see what a pretty young thing like herwould find interesting there. It's not exactly the big city.

"But no, haven't seen her. Hope you folks find her. If nothing else though, 'fraid I gotta get back to work." He motions towards the car. "Owner's expecting it by the end of the day."
