Maria turns to the farmer.

“Do you know that girl?” she asks.

"Mademoiselle, wait! Do you mind at least telling me you name?" Tobias reacted speed-walking after the woman. He was relatively suspicious of the woman's behaviour. Some instinct tells him to pursue the lady, she might know a bit more than she let on.

The farmer looks at you dumbfounded, "never seen her before tonight. When the net dropped down she came tearing out of the bushes."

Tobias begins to chase after the young woman who keeps walking looking back over her shoulder for a quick glance but doesn't answer you.

Maria also starts after Tobias and the girl.

“She must know something” she thinks.

Eddie also follows her.

"Sounds mighty suspicious." Bret heads after the others.

You are able to catch up to her as she was heading for the bus stop. She turns glaring at you, "Why are you following me?"

"Pardon me, mademoiselle. We are following you because we believe you know a few things about the Hound that you aren't telling us. My friend over there is a journalist, and there's a police officer o'er there that's quite interested in the happenings around the Swamp as well. I'm a criminology-turned-occult-bullshit researcher from Miskatonic University. A few of my professors forced the assignments onto me. We would prefer it if you could give me some more information concerning the Hound, eh?" Tobias said charmingly, making an attempt at floundering what little French vocabulary he has in an attempt attempt to throw a piece of wool over the lady's eyes with faux sophistry.

Maria hopes that the girl won’t be scared off. Hopefully she might talk to another woman.

“We really don’t mean to alarm you. It’s just that we were trying to find out more about the hound. We don’t want to hurt it, we want to understand about it. I’m from here, so I’ve heard stories about the swamp all my life. I’m Maria, by the way.”

She holds out her hand to shake.

Tobias coughed slightly.

"I - I can't say." she says looking around nervous hoping the bus will come soon. "Just tell the farmer, the hounds won't be raiding his chickens anymore. It's all going to stop."

“Please don’t be worried” Maria says gently. “We can help you if need it. Is there something that you’re afraid of?"

"I'm not afraid of anything," she says.

You see the bus coming up the street.

"It's not safe for you to be out here by yourself," says Eddie. "We'd like to make sure you get home safe. If there's anything you're not telling us, please share it. Don't worry if you think we won't believe you. We've seen a lot."

Tobias studied her with scrutiny in hopes of finding something abnormal within her mannerisms...

"I don't think I'm in danger," she says. "I don't know anything else. Look the bus is coming. I'll be okay."

Tobias,oh yea, she is lying through her teeth, she knows a lot about what is going on, and is scared to death of you guys.

Tobias looked at the woman and stared at her in the eye impassively. Her overall mannerisms indicates extreme nervousness, exaggerated hand gestures and over-eagerness to leave tells Tobias that she is lying and are in extreme distress. Her shifty eyes, a general refusal to maintain eye contact, as well as the mild quaver in her voice told him that she wasn't afraid of them. But he's not sure why. Discreetly, he approached Eddie and silently muttered, "She's lyin' through her teeth. I'm going to find an excuse to tail her later." He shifted his glance towards Maria for a moment, and signalled to her that something's up.

He turned back towards the young woman's willowy figure and once again focused on her pallid face. With as much sincerity as he could muster, he said charmingly,
"No worries, young madam, it's dangerous for a woman to be out alone this late at night. How about I accompany you back to your house? There's safety in numbers. After all, who knows what could happen in this cold, dark, dangerous night?"

“Yes” says Maria earnestly. “We can help you if need it.”

She tries to sound convincing, but she gets the feeling that the girl has made her mind up.
