"Holy moly!" Bret exclaims, staggering back in surprise. "There's an Indian in the water!"

"Sweet dzambhala! What the hell are you on about, Journalist? That outburst came out of nowhere, you scared the Bodhicitta out of me."Tobias yelped in a half-joking manner as Bret went on about something random. Tobias was, by no means, a Buddhist, but his father was an immigrant from The Orient, which made him and his younger sister privy to understanding eastern religions from a young age.

Fearing that he might have explain what a Bodhicitta is, he quickly added, "Don't mind me. It's nothing important. But, more importantly, what's going on, Bret?" He said with a somewhat serious expression towards Bret, something tells him that the fear and surprise on Bret's face is genuine. Hopefully, it's nothing important.

Maria staggers back, exhausted with the effort of rescuing Porter, but full of relief. Her hands are shaking so badly, she barely registers Bret's incredible remark. She looks at him in amazement, but he seems deadly serious, almost in shock.

"In the water?" says Eddie, looking around. "Did he drown there, or is he standing up or something?"

"He's floating under there reaching up and calling," Bret says in agitation, glancing again at the water. "See for yourself."

"Really?" Tobias said enquiringly, staring in the general direction that Bret has been staring at a few moments ago. "I see nothing suspicious hiding down in tha' swamp over there, mate. No weird Indians." He then proceeded to look at Bret with a weird expression of skeptical disbelief on his face.

Maria gingerly creeps over to the edge of the water and peers in.

Dr. Porter coughs and wipes the swamp water off of himself. "I'd stay away from that, I didn't slip, something tried to pull me in."

Tobias,you are correct, you see nothing but water.

Maria,make a spot hidden check. If you fail you see nothing. If you pass wait for my instructions.

Maria cannot see anything in the murky water. She has no doubt that there must be something down there though. She steps back again.

Tobias trusted Dr. Porter's words and judged that it would be a dangerous idea to approach quagmires regardless of whether there's any weird Indians down under. He turned to Eddie, and said with an even tone "So, that do we do now? Do we continue on deeper into the Swamp or do we remain here for a few moments longer? Personally, I would advise against lingering. Something about this damned place is giving me the creepers..." He shivered for emphasis.

"I don't know how he's still alive down there," says Eddie. "We could try tossing him the end of a rope and pulling him out."

“He might try to pull us in again” says Maria. “Why don’t we tie the rope to something, and he can pull himself out? He’s certainly strong enough”.

As you are talking, the rain begins to intensify, and the sun goes down. Darkness quickly covers the woods and swamp.

Off to your right you see a small glow in the woods that stands out now that it is dark.

"If we stay out here any longer it'll be time for the hound's scheduled grocery trip to Mr. Jenkins' farm." Bret squints, trying to make out what the glow is coming from.

The encounter with the Indian seems to have sharpened his eyesight...

Bret only,The light appears to have a small person controlling a ball of light. He is only about 3 feet tall and wearing a loin clothe. He has dark skin and black hair. He smiles and waves at you as to beckon to you. OOC: make a Sanity 0/1 test.

OOC:   I've started noticing people not putting their character names on their posts. Please do so, it makes my life so much easier. You can put it at the top, or include it in your post.

Bret blinks. "Uh, did you guys know there were midgets living out here?"
