"I hear something coming from the other side too, crawling up the crevice," Bret says urgently.

Tobias gets a blank stare on his face (flat face) and begins walking towards the crevice.

Tobias,no dice rolling on this one.

Eddie turns towards the crevice and tries to see what's coming, gripping his shotgun - though he has no idea if it will even work here. "Be careful!" he hisses. "It could be dangerous!"

The sound to the East stops, while the sound in the crevice gets louder and more menacing.

You all stand there, guns drawn, ready for whatever, except for Tobias who is now 20 feet in front of you, and continuing to walk towards the crevice, and whatever is coming out of it.

Another popping sound, as you blink and everything looks normal, as if you are in normal 3d space. Or so it appears.

Maria looks around to see who or what was approaching from the east.

Maria looks behind her and the floor with pillars stretches as far as you can see in all directions. You see nothing else, and nothing of the steps you heard earlier.

"Get back, it's coming!" Eddie calls to Tobias.

Bret has another try at tracing the lines on the key now that the proper dimensions have returned.

Bret traces the lines on the key again, and again nothing happens.

Tobias continues to walk towards the crevice ignoring Eddie's calls.
He is now half way between the rest of the group and the yawning chasm that is calling him.

Maria looks around to locate the Professor and Joe.

Both the professor and Joe are still with your group. Both looked pretty freaked out and aren't sure what to do.

“It might need blood to activate it” Maria tells Bret. “Is that right, Professor?” she demands.

Eddie rushes forward to grab Tobias and pull him away from the crevice.

Eddie runs up to stop Tobias. He is still about 30 feet away, he wants to keep going towards the crevice.
You are struggling with him, but have stopped his progress.

You hear something behind you to the West. As you turn around, you see 6 humanoids in robes, about 3-4 feet from you.


They are all wearing a gray and black robe. And each of them except one has a symbol, that appears to be some sort of geometric shape, around his neck.

OOC:   The rest of the group was 60 feet from the crevice. But this is hard to tell with the dimensions shifting on you. Tobias had covered half the distance when Eddie ran and caught up, so you are 30 feet from the crevice, you year the clawing coming up the crevice.

Tobias,you have regained control and may act normally for now.

The monks in front you you look a bit frantic, "What are you still doing here? You need to go, and now, you have disturbed him. Who is the chosen one?" As they speak their voices seem to come from different directions and while you only see one mouth, it sounds like there is more than one.
