Rosa had fired at the seeder as it flew through the air, but it had been moving too fast.

The Amante flings itself through the air at Rosa, and tries to claw her with one of its massive hands.
The Amante misses and lands a small distance behind Rosa and Gavric.

Rosa fires a burst at the ape-thing as it rushes her.

Rosa fires again, but the thing moves too quickly.

Gavric unslings his rifle, and pulls the trigger, but nothing happens - the gun must be jammed.

[Spoiler-Button]It is pointblank at this point from attempting to attack you so I'd say a bonus is appropriate. I didn't find the part of the rules referencing it at a glance I thought it was a bonus of 20 but I may be thinking of COC or something else[/Spoiler-Button]

Rosa's burst hits after all, and it is fairly powerful.

The bullet ridden Amante lets out a terrible screech before it falls dead. It is leaking orange fluid instead of blood.

Gain 1 San for killing it.

“Help me with this thing someone!” shouts Gavric. He is still kneeling on the worm-like creature. “Give me my pistol!”

Rosa moves to hand Gavric his pistol, unless the Sheriff beats her to it.

Gavric gratefully takes the proffered weapon and empties the clip into the parasite.

The Sheriff has been in utter shock since he saw the creature. He is borderline non-responsive and seems to be mumbling something to himself. The creature perishes quickly when a whole clip is unloaded into it.

"There's no kill like overkill," says Rosa. "Let's make sure the house of clear of any more hostiles."

Gavric nods.

"Okay Rosa, but let me fix my rifle first."

As he clears the blockage, he talks gently to the Sheriff.

"Listen Sheriff, stay here and we'll come back and get you real soon, okay?"

When he finishes, he nods to Rosa and picks up the sonic weapon again.

Rosa reloads her rifle with a fresh magazine. "I'll check the bathroom first," she says when Gavric is ready. "Cover me." She makes her way carefully over to the bathroom with her rifle in her hands, using the barrel to push open the door.

Gavric stands behind her, rifle ready.

The bathroom seems normal, but you notice a blanket nailed up on the wall in the hallway.
