This century-old house has been converted into rental housing for Lafontaine University students. It has a grand façade and porch in comparison to the rest of the block. The back yard is spacious enough to allow the residents to park cars there. The house is owned by Pamela Decature and currently rented by Lafontaine University students Jonah Washington, Tilda Hasting, and Melody Farthing.

Brian exits the cruiser and walks to the front door, alert for any signs of disturbance.

OOC: Is there anything odd-looking or unusual?

There are three cars in the parking lot, two sedans and a jeep. The cars are coated completely in ice, but the jeep is clean. It must have arrived after the storm. Deputy Fillagree goes around back and calls out for Agent Scott. It’s apparent that the Amantè broke in through the basement. The cellar door has been clawed through with astounding ferocity. Scraps of grayish flesh hang from the splinters around the hole.

Inside you can see a corpse next to the washer and dryer.The bloated body shifts like a too-full water balloon. The woman’s face is caught in a mask of terror, and the same orange fluid leaking from her wounds drips from her nose and eyes (0/1D4 SAN).

Brian is used to this kind of sight now. He draws his weapon and motions Fillagree to get behind him. He looks for the cellar exit.

Deputy Filagree makes an awareness roll, so should Agent Scott.

Brian hears a thud upstairs and smells a foul odor. Orange fluid is dripping from a spot on the ceiling.

“There’s someone or something up there Fillagree” whispers Brian, pointing to the spot. “Follow me”.

He moves to the cellar door.

It’s apparent that the Amantè broke in through the basement. The cellar door has been clawed through with astounding ferocity. Scraps of grayish flesh hang from the splinters around the hole.

The door at the top of the staircase is open, revealing a kitchen. Agent Scott sees two full bowls of dog food but he hasn't seen any other signs of a dog.

Deputy Fillagree looks shocked at the body. "What the hell are these things...is there really one of them in her?" Fillagree has his gun pointed at the woman's body.

The kitchen seems normal, Agent Scott sees nothing of signficance in the dining room. The house is very well decorated, with the exception of a blanket oddly tacked to a wall in the hallway. Moving it back reveals bloody smears streaked across the wallpaper.

Moving slowly, Brian goes towards the living room. He motions Fillagree to cover him while he checks out the toilet.

Everything happens so fast. Brian peeks his head into the bathroom and an eruption of noise comes from behind him as an Amanta, dripping all over with orange goo has tried to leapt on him from the top floor through the opening in the top of the foyer.

Brian screams now with the pain. He knows it is almost over, and prays to go with God. His finger pulls reflexively on the trigger of his CZ, but he has no control left.

The Amante reaches down and rips the seeder from between its legs. The sound of snapping tendons fills your ears and orange fluid sprays everywhere. The last thing you feel is a huge worm sliding down your throat. Agent Scott is unconscious.

Brian awakens an uncertain amount of time later, among the remains of Deputy Fillagree, recognizable only thanks to the shreds of remaining uniform. Brian isn't terrified, isn't disgusted....he feels empty, like something is missing. His left hand is missing, somehow healed into a stump. Yet, he doesn't feel shocked. Just empty.

Another blackout.

Brian wakes up feeling wet. As he opens his eyes he's gathered the shredded remains of Deputy Fillagree into a pile. Instead of disgust, he feels excited, rejuvenated, even aroused. He feels so healthy, so strong around the blood and the viscera. But there just isn't enough.

A part of Brian is still in there. It will cost 1/1d6 San to resist searching for a victim.

OOC: It's a small device that you activate then it emits a very loud noise at a high frequency, so it doesn't affect humans but should be problematic for an animal that uses echolocation. It would affect one in the room strongly but you could expect anything in the house to react

There is suddenly a lot of noise coming from downstairs, lots of clicks and growls and some sort of wet slurping.

The apelike creature hurls itself up the stairs and stands in front of the two of you, it looks enraged and disoriented. It is covered in blood head to toe. The most foreign thing about it is that lack of a face or eyes, just a huge mouth. The creature has a large tail/phallus in place of legs.

The Sheriff has been in utter shock since he saw the creature. He is borderline non-responsive and seems to be mumbling something to himself. The creature perishes quickly when a whole clip is unloaded into it.

Jonah’s documents confirm he was coming home from a reservist weekend when the storm hit. The keys go to the jeep outside. The living room and den look like a struggle has occurred there.

The rotting bodies of three large dogs are in the tub, if you had to guess you'd say three labs. The bodies are torn apart like an animal has been feeding from them. There are large apelike hand prints in blood on the tub.

“That means we likely have more of these things on the loose. Let’s check the bedroom to our left.”

The bedroom has a carved wooden statue in the doorway, it looks like one of the creatures the agents just killed. It has immaculate detail, especially on the phallus.

The sound from the laptop grabs the agents attention next. There is a webcam video playing. Two women bring in what looks like a homeless man. He seems confused as they start stripping him and taking off their clothes. In the heat of passion, worms come from their mouths and they begin stabbing the homeless man as he screams, even after he quits making any sound at all.

There is a phone behind the laptop.

There are pictures hung up on the wall of one of the girls from the video, papers around the room tell you her name is Tilda Hastings.

The other bedroom is an absolute mess. The bed is covered in blood and orange liquid. There is a bloated corpse on the floor, something has ripped its way out from inside of it and scattered gore across the room.

There is a mural across one wall, a portrait of a woman's head but you can see an enormous worm inside. The woman has a look of ecstasy.

He looks up at Rosa. “These guys were students right? Remember we saw that party at the dorm? I wonder if some of them might have got infected. Maybe we should head over there. I’m clueless about what else to do.”

"I've rallied my officers at nearby shelters, but Truman Memorial Highschool is one of our largest shelters and isn't very far away. I intend to head there as soon as possible, to try to organize something"

The phone upstairs is ringing.

There is an small pause on the other line where music and people can be heard in the background. Followed by a loud girl who sounds like she is about to cry. "Your fucking slut roommates are in a room with Chad, and like, we've been dating for months and I know they both know. How could they do this to me? I swear I'll get those fucking sluts back Jonah, actually who is this?"

The toolbox seems totally ordinary, much to Gavric's relief. There is a cell phone dropped near the body. The hair and what is left of the face don't match, this woman was much older and heavier then either of the girls that live here.

"Thanks, I'm on my way," says Rosa. She hangs up and starts heading back downstairs to the vehicles. "The women are at the university, Room 515 in McFillion Hall, the ugly brick dorm. The room's on the fifth floor, far right. They're boinking some guy named Chad, and probably infesting him too. That was his girlfriend on the phone. We need to get there fast." She takes out her cell phone to call their fellow agents back at the university to fill them in on what they've found.

There's chatter over the radio. "This is Sheriff Williams to all available units, we have an emergency situation at Truman Memorial High School. Two of those creatures have broken into the shelter and things could get bad fast"

The situation at the university and the high school need to be resolved quickly before things spiral out of control, leaving the agents at a crossroads on how to proceed.

The dull hum of the massive generators fills the air at Truman Memorial High School. About fifty people have taken shelter here. There are two police officers by the door, one of whom you recognize as Sheriff Williams. It is dark outside and it seems like the schools lights are still off, people are carrying flashlights and lanterns.

"Well damn, that opens to the offices on the upper floor of the gym. I knew the damn things had got in." says Sheriff Williams.

"Officers Martin and Lopez, cover the front entrance. I'll be here at the back with a shotgun in case the thing tries to escape back into the trees."

The two officers heed his orders and cover the front entrance.

The gym is littered with people all around with blankets and sleeping bags. The only light comes from a few lanterns, leaving the place dim and full of long shadows. The roof of the gym is out of sight, nothing but darkness. It's late but many of the people are still awake and look scared, parents try to comfort their children. Everyone looks dirty and unkempt, depression and exhaustion mixed in with their fear. The stairwell to the second floor is clearly labeled.

“Wait Sheriff! We need to get everyone out quickly and as quietly as possible” he says. “If we start shooting there’ll be mass panic. Please, can you announce to everyone that we need to move them, and that they need to get the bare minimum of stuff and come to the door where the other Officers will meet them. Families with children first. Let’s try to lay on some transport and take them elsewhere. Me and Rosa will cover you. What do you think, Rosa?

"You're both probably right, but we don't have enough vehicles that can make it through the ice and the debris, a couple trucks and the cruisers but not enough the move fifty people." He stops to think. "Maybe we could keep them in the school buses for a little while but they couldn't handle that very long."

"It doesn't have to be for too long, just until we kill that thing. At least get the children away. We can't risk opening fire with all these people around. When they're gone, maybe we can get the lights working and spot that thing more easily. Come on, let's get moving" he says gently but firmly. "Before it decides to attack.

To Rosa he says, "Anyone infected should be easy enough to spot."

Sheriff Williams begins yelling to the frightened people.

"Everyone, wake up. We have an emergency situation, and its important that everyone evacuate for a short time. We have found lice infected with dangerous parasites at another shelter and everyone needs to get checked out. This is a precaution but a vital one. Now, we're going to put the children in one bus and the adults in seven other buses. We will try to do this as quickly as possible but bring sleeping bags and jackets."

The people look terrified as they all wake up. Some people are openly refusing to go outside at this time of night in this temperatures, others refuse to be separated from their children. Some of the people are willing to leave but are hurt or elderly. Though the majority of people are up and ready to go there are still those few groups who refuse. Children are crying as they are dragged from their parents by the officers, one person tries to punch one of the cops and is roughly tackled and handcuffed. After that, it goes more smoothly, and people are lead to the cars.

Gavric is relieved that the civilians have gone, although he thinks the decision to separate the children from their parents was unnecessary and risky.

“Alright, is it possible to get the power going in here? If we get the lights on, we should be able to find the ape pretty quickly. Does anyone know where to look for the building controls?”

The light reveals the creatures swinging across the rafters of the old gym. There are two fully grown Amante, who hesitate for a moment before the hum of the lights alerts them to whats happened. One of the two has an arm that looks red and irritated, even slightly stunted. Neither of them has a seeder organ currently attached.

The first creature hurls itself down from the rafters at Sheriff Williams, pinning him beneath it.

Rising up on one knee, Rosa raises her rifle and fires a burst into the fleeing creature's back. She reasons that it's more important not to let it escape, and that the Sheriff can fend for himself for now.

The fleeing Amante is badly injured but its thick hide has kept it alive. It opens the back door and is met by one of the cops left to guard outside, who fires his pistol.

But the creature is still alive, and scrambling for the trees. The door is still open for now but will swing shut in a moment.

The second creature abandons his attack on the Sheriff and comes after Gavric. It comes at him mouth open, and attempts to rip a chunk of flesh out of his torso with its sharp teeth.

Sheriff Williams pulls himself up off the ground and fires his pistol at the creature by Gavric.

The seeder stays attached to Rosa's leg, even as her nails dig into it, squeezing and expanding as it pumps liquid. The second man tackles Rosa to the ground, trying to force her to release the seeder on her leg.
