Perhaps impressed by the presence of a rare visitor from across the Atlantic, the attendant directs his attention toward Mr. McKerry. "Ah, I perceive we have some interest from one of the world's other great institutions. I will inquire if the director can see you and your companions for a moment, sir."

After a short wait you are shown into the office of Dr. John R. Campbell, an impressive, scholarly figure who regards you from behind his great desk and a cloud of pipe smoke.

"I understand you are investigating last night's robbery?"

Realising that they have been granted this audience by virtue of Mr McKerry’s presence, Ambrose stands politely back well away from the foul smelling pipe smoke.

"Yes, that's right," says Diane. "Anything you can tell us would be most helpful."

"A most embarrassing business," Dr. Campbell replies. "I would not normally discuss such matters with members of the public, you understand. But Sergeant Craig informed me this morning that you gentlemen and ladies were instrumental in recovering the stolen books from the warehouse, so I will help you if I can.

The thieves broke into the Oriental Antiquities department and took that queer cube which was being examined for the police. Fortunately no one was harmed and there was only minimal damage.

They then attempted to take something else from Manuscripts, however. One of the rare ancient texts. Luckily they were spotted by the guards at this juncture and fled without success. The thieves were said to be Chinese men, thuggish-looking. One of the guards reported noticing a tattoo upon the hand of one. A yellow dragon."

No doubt the investigators will recall the vision of the psychic Godfrey Williamson: "I see a great yellow dragon, snorting fire, bathed in blinding smoke."

Dr. Campbell produces a sketch of the image in question, which seems somehow familiar...
