OOC: Ok, I think maybe I wasn't totally clear in describing the area. You currently ARE in the mess hall. You were coming from the corridor and opened the steel door with the porthole, that led into the mess hall, where the air vent is. Stogie stayed near the door, keeping an eye on the air vent, while the rest moved to open the remaining doors. Amadeus has most likely stayed behind, next to Stogie and in the corridor. Oliver moved to the door to the larder, and that's where he felt ill. Tom and Dowson-Frost moved to open the last door, to the kitchen.

So if you want to take repair behind the steel door, you have to head back to the corridor where you originally come from, and then close the door behind you. Sorry again if I wasn't clear. We can trace back a few posts to when you started hearing the noises, although a simple edit would be enough to make sense of them. I have added a small map to make things clearer. All doors are currently open.

Smalls and Tom help Amadeus and Oliver respectively, and somehow the whole team manages to scramble back into the corridor. As soon as they're clear, Stogie closes the door and seals it. The rest collapse on the floor, panting and breathing heavily.

OOC: Does anyone look into the room from the porthole?

Amadeus looks through the porthole and soon wishes he hadn't. The air vent bursts open and a creature comes out of it. It all seems unreal, but it's happening in front of your eyes. The 'thing' is a mass of flesh and bones and cartilage, all massed together, fused together, like a mad experiment gone wrong. And it's moving, flexing half-formed muscles and leaving behind a trail of liquid that is half blood and half ichor. It has a dozen legs protruding out of its body, and other appendages, many of them ending in a long fang or some other lethal edge. There are also arms, and even organs protruding out - hearts, lungs, all moving and beating and pulsing. And heads, at least a couple of dozen heads, one of which is that of Nick, now looking at the world with dead and empty eyes.

Amadeus felt a primal sense of fear. The kind that made his already loose bladder weaken even further. The sights were terrifying, but he managed to retain some modicum of composure.

"Run." He squeezed out. Unsure of who he was addressing.

"Monster." Amadeus wheezed. "Nein, abscheulicher Horror! Ze ting iz moving, horrific protruding mass, and izzah coming fer uz! And heads, mein Gott, at least a couple of dozen heads, one of which iz Nick's, Er ist jetzt verflucht."

Stogie hefts his Garand. "Maybe it's time ta open the door and pour it on. We're meant to cleaning this place out, aren't we?"

"As long as we don't make noise," whispers Oliver, "the enemy won't be able to find us. If we run, that will attract its attention. Let us withdraw quietly instead, and explore the rest of the facility while it is somewhere we've already searched."

"You heard the Captain. Everybody out. And don't make any noises." He says, whispering. Then he looks at Stogie "We have the subs, and I think we left a couple of doors at the other side of the docks."

"I think we should check out the U-Boats first," says Oliver quietly. "The captains will have kept logs, and those could have valuable intelligence. If we do have to have a showdown with whatever killed Nick, the dock area is where I'd rather do it. Plenty of open space, and there's a supply of Panzerfausts there."

Stogie grins around his cigar. "Sounds good to me. We'll have to leave some of us on guard outside the subs, far as I can see they only have one way in and out. And we may not want to get trapped in a giant cigar tube with that thing at the door."
