The Zero Room - OOC Chat Thread

London, 1940: The world is engulfed in the flames of war, and now the war has come to Great Britain's capital. German bombers rain death and destruction upon the blacked-out city, but what other terrors lurk unseen in the darkness? The Time Lord, his companions, and a handful of London's inhabitants doing their bit may be the only ones who can avert disaster.

This is Classic Doctor Who meets Call of Cthulhu, the fifth of a series of connected adventures set in different eras and locations that includes The Terror Out of Time, The Ninth Planet, The Shadow Over Dunwich, and The Brotherhood of Death.

Thank you very much, though that was actually long-term planning rather than improvisation. If you ever read the first adventure in this campaign, The Terror Out of Time, you'll see just how long I've been planning it, as that's when I planted the seeds. Anna just happened to fit so perfectly into what I was already planning to do, and she isn't the only investigator in this game where things worked out like that. That also tended to happen a lot with Space Oddity, where I was able to get many disparate characters involved in the plot despite their differing backgrounds.

Yep. I've read a few of the past campaigns, it was pretty amazing how much thought and dedication was put into making them 'pop'. Personally, I'm loving every moment of this and it's amazing watching the plot unfold before my eyes.

Oh wow, I've been here for five years already, trying to escape christmas :)

My first game here was the 80's/deep one episode of this campaign.
Thanks for the good years, crew!

You're welcome, and thank you to the players for also making this campaign happen and for sticking with it for so long. I couldn't do it without you! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Yes I liked it a lot too. Very good IMHO for a Christmas special, and also something rather important too.

Finished it last night. Definitely one Seteven Moffat's better works. I still forgive season 4 of Sherlock though...

It was well-paced and morally ambiguous, so that's good. The regeneration sequence was top-notch. :)

I was particularly wowed by the combination of Peter Capaldi's final speech, and acting, and the music that played during it. From Heaven Sent. Thank goodness the Season 9 soundtrack is finally due to be released soon!

My octogenarian Dad from Huddersfield is also rather excited by where the new Doctor Who actor is from ... ;)

I know. The Special felt good, poignant, and Jodie had more lines in the final scene than Mark Hamil did in The Force Awakens.

Yes, I'm looking forward to the next season with the Thirteenth Doctor. Seeing the recreation of the end of The Tenth Planet merged seamlessly with the surviving footage was a nice touch, with modern actors briefly playing Ben and Polly alongside David Bradley reprising his role as the First Doctor.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the thirteenth Doctor as well, pity it doesn't air until next year.

Is Nell Murrows the dead girl from the warehouse, if not, did we get her name? I thought we did.
