The Zero Room - OOC Chat Thread

London, 1940: The world is engulfed in the flames of war, and now the war has come to Great Britain's capital. German bombers rain death and destruction upon the blacked-out city, but what other terrors lurk unseen in the darkness? The Time Lord, his companions, and a handful of London's inhabitants doing their bit may be the only ones who can avert disaster.

This is Classic Doctor Who meets Call of Cthulhu, the fifth of a series of connected adventures set in different eras and locations that includes The Terror Out of Time, The Ninth Planet, The Shadow Over Dunwich, and The Brotherhood of Death.

Thank you. It turns out that it wasn't as bad as previously thought. Most of the doctors at the hospital last weekend had thought it was a gallstone, though one had said it was a kidney stone. I'd had those before last year, and it didn't feel quite the same, but it turned out that she was probably right. A few days ago I had an appointment with a surgeon to discuss the possibility of having my gallbladder removed, and the symptoms she described of gallstones was nothing like what I had, so I don't have to have it taken out after all. I had recovered from the actual kidney stone (if that's what it was) over a week ago, but the shot of toredol they gave me for the pain left me extremely drowsy for the next few days and then merely very drowsy for the rest of the week. I'm back now, and I'll update and merge the threads.

I've updated the threads (except for Among the Few, where both players are away). The new thread, Tea Time, is now up, and the new players may go there and begin posting any time they're ready.

I'm checking in again. Started to improve neurologically a week ago, but waited before coming back, to be sure it was a good improvement, and not a false positive! So back posting as Elizabeth now. Off to check her thread. Many thanks and best wishes all. And welcome to new players :)

Just checking - as we’re gathered for tea, the talk of the asylum, and the escapee - does Charles know of any of this, maybe from reading about it in the papers (maybe a know roll, or something), or is it completely new info for him, and he hasn’t got the faintest idea what is being talked about?

Yeah, for some reason the inbuilt dice roller doesn't seem to want to work for me in all my practice attempts, but I'll give it a go here...

It's rather off topic, but I recently read a book that I think others here may enjoy. It's called The Woven Path by Robin Jarvis. It's set in a London museum full of weird things, which would be relevant enough, but then it goes off in another direction entirely, and it's not unrelated to this game we're playing.

It's a young adult book, so a fairly easy read, aimed at teenagers or so. But I would recommend checking it out if you like weird things, strange fantasy, and a rather timey wimey plot that may resonate. Oh and it's the first in a trilogy, but I haven't read the others yet, and this one does tell its own story.

That does sound good! I'd like to read it one of these days.

I'm planning to merge threads again, but I don't have time tonight. I'm hoping I will tomorrow night, or failing that not long after.

Hi, can I do a psychology roll on Elizabeth to see if I think she's a) talking rubbish, or b) believes what she is saying? I'm having trouble figuring out how Charles can believably believe her without making it seem like he'll accept anything told to him about anything, and feel like he's holding up the flow of the game because of this.

I'm planning to split the thread in a couple of days or so. If anyone hasn't posted in the IC thread yet to say what your character is going to do, please do so by then.

No problem. I'm going to be away for some of that time myself anyway.

I'm sorry I didn't get the new thread started last week. I didn't have much time during the week, and I didn't get much sleep yesterday. I didn't get a whole lot during the week either. I should be able to get it going tonight.

I AM NOT DEAD!

Ooops, sorry, that was too loud. ANyways, apologies to everyone here for dropping off the radar so abruptly. I didn't get any emails from the PLAY@YSDC system as I usually did and forgot all about htis for a while. Seriously, I really do feel sorry for ruining the fun for someone else and maintaining such poor RP etiquette; I should've noticed this sooner, again kow-tows in apology. I'm back and I have not abandoned Anna.

Hope everyone can understand that I don't intend to be a douche here. :)
