OOC,I was shooting at the creature's heart, but I wasn't sure if I'd be able to see it. It doesn't matter anyway. My roll was good enough to hit the creature, but not its heart.

Nick covers their advance, using the flamethrower if needed to create a "wall of fire". He doesn't hope to "hit" the monsters, but rather to keep them away.

He gets a flashback to an ancestral memory of sorts: a caveman with a torch trying to scare away a sabertooth tiger...
