For a brief moment Emilia stares blankly at Judith as if thinking about her simple question. Then she looks towards the woods, “Yes, grandfather is the local doctor, and has been so for many years”.
Standing with her back to the woods, Mary Laker, her raincoat whipped by the still savage wind, shrugs, “Okay then this way to the doc’s place”, She turns and begins to walk into the woods in a south-westerly direction. You could all sense a hint of disappointment in her voice…
