Elizabeth, Lucius, and Spurius entered the atrium through the main entrance, passing between another pair of Egyptian guards. They saw Artemis about to enter a bedroom with a beautiful Egyptian serving girl, the same one Spurius had recalled was feeding him before Artemis had interrupted him, and now it was his turn to return the favor.

"You have returned, Spurius," said the girl, noticing their arrival. "And with company, I see."

"I had to bring Caelia Alba'a patient here," explained Spurius. "It would have taken too long to fetch her and bring her back to Rome. He needs her help. Where is she?"

"She is with the Senator. I doubt that the ceremony is complete yet."

"It seems Akana, plans have changed. You recall Spurius, but let me introduce both Elizabeth and Lucius to you as well. Akana has been very kind not only showing me the delights of Egypt that the Senator has about this place, but also the most amazing way to use spices." Artemis smiled as he introduced the others to Akana. "Now, do we need to find the Lady Caelia?"

"Where she is, you may not enter," said Akana. "I shall go and see if she is finished. It is nice to meet you, Elizabeth and Lucius. Please wait here." Akana left through a corridor at the rear of the atrium.

"Thank you sir," says Elizabeth, smiling at Artemis. "My friend is injured, and we wanted to seek help for him as quickly as possible, from a trusted medic." She looks around her, taking in the surroundings, and trying to assess what may be going on, and reading between the lines of who is saying and doing what.
