Horror On The Orient Express (Trail of Cthulhu)

Horror On The Orient Express

The game is a Trail Of Cthulhu version of the Horror On The Oriten Express campaign published by Chaosium for the 7th Edition Call Of Cthulhu. It is a European campaign set in the winter between January and March of 1923. Night falls early then, and each night is long and cold... Over the course of the campaign, the investigators are trying to collect the various pieces of an ancient statue called the Sedefkar Simulacrum. The campaign is made up of 11 scenarios, taking place in seven nations, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Italy, The Kingdom of Serbs Croats and Slovenes, Bulgaria, and Turkey. All are stops on the path of the Simplon-Orient Express. The original COC campaign is known to be linear and railroad in more than name. This TOC version of the campaign has some minor changes, mainly done to introduce some subplots and provide players with more narrative options and more degrees of choice.

Players: The game accepts 3 to 5 investigators. It will start as soon as player slots are full.

Keeper: robertod. COC/TOC roleplayer since 1996. Here on PLAY@YSDC I have run "the Sign Of Virgo" adventure some time ago.

Welcome back! I definitely want to play this. It would be great to give my character Felicity Hayward another spin. I'd just have to convert her to Trail.

If you want to see Felicity in action, you can read about her efforts to rescue Maria in Venice, starting here. She's a lot of fun to play!

I'd be interested, even though I'm playing and running far too many games at the moment. I haven't played Trail of Cthulhu for a while but I've got the rules so I can refresh myself.

Thaks for the interest.
If for you guys would be easier, I can run the campain in the original COC mode.
Althought I prefere TOC, I am flexible if players are more confortable with COC.
Not a big deal by me.
Thoughts?

I was thinking of an upper class British government agent, less George Smiley more Richard Hannay.

Thank you! I prefer CoC to ToC, but I'd play either.

When you're ready to start, I can create a forum for us. Please post a short text blurb in this thread for me to use as a description, like you see for the other games on the main page.

Never played ToC, but willing to give it a go. More than happy to use CoC too.

I’ve an idea for a working-class thief, but not sure how he’s end up on the train.

See this thread for an introduction to the rules of ToC, also there's a Quick Start PDF available.

Let´s stay with ToC then. I´m ready right now!

Here is the text blurb:

Horror On The Orient Express.
A puzzling headline begins a front-page article found in the Times of London. Three men, all identical in identification, were found dead in the same room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. Then the home of a valued friend burns to the ground, severely injuring him in the process. It is the beginning of "Horror On The Orient Express" a European campaign set in the winter between January and March of 1923. Over the course of the campaign, the investigators are trying to collect the various pieces of an ancient statue called the Sedefkar Simulacrum. Night falls early then, and each night is long and cold. He can work. How ending up in the train will be provided by the plot. The important starting point for the investigators is a relationship with the NPC Professor Smith. I will tell you more in the character creation thread.
