Game Title: Ghosts of Mu
System: Call of Cthulhu BRP (Seems to be the preferred system here)
Time Frame: Classic (1931)
Players Wanted: 4-6
Posting Rate: At least three times a week.

A daughter's quest to find her missing father will propel her and her companions on a world spanning chase from the fog bond streets of San Francisco to forgotten vine wreathed ruins to a war torn city across the ocean. The small group of investigators must solve a millennium long mystery before it’s too late.

I am looking for four to six players to join a Call of Cthulhu campaign set in 1931. The game will begin in San Francisco. The focus of the beginning of the game will be on a daughter’s search for her missing father, a Professor of Anthropology from Chicago’s Field Museum. I am hoping to mix elements of Lovecraftean Horror, Chandleresque Noir, and Wierd Pulp to make a interesting and enjoyable game.

Interested Players:
SuAside
Tars_Tarkas
William-Tobey
Aiylithe

What?! You want me to give the whole plot away?

Here you go:
5 Exotic locals
3 Great Old Ones
Time travel
Gangsters
Pigmy Cannibals
Crystal Skulls
Amelia Earhart
Chinese Vampires

What else would you like to know? Image

I was thinking more on the lines of a Jiang Shi.

Hard Boiled Detective, the Professor's Daughter come to mind but I am pretty open as to character types. A Hobo might not fit in the game though. :D

You had me at "Chandleresque Noir."

What kind of posting rate are you looking for? I can do 2-3 per week, but I know many games run at a much faster clip -- too much for me to keep up with.

Nearly any ... sacrifice ... is worth playing in one of Gomez' games.

Whoops. Didn't notice the posting rate was right there in your first post. Need to take my Focusin.

What would you say to a Sailor Steve Costigan type?

i'm thinking of a rich philanthropist (which would account for his link to the Chicago’s Field Museum and from there to the father in question), that spends his time playing golf. He's one of the lucky few that have not been dealt a too great blow during the Wall Street Crash of 1929 thanks in part to his rather heavy investments in gold and other precious metals across the globe. While his assets have declined, he's far better off than most of (what used to be) his peers.

Other than playing on the stockmarket (an occupation that has been reduced to a mere hobby thanks to the crash), he also plays semi-professional golf. A sport that he often likes to compare with his time in the American Expeditionary Force (for which he volunteered) during The Great War where he served as a sniper. Afterall, golf and marksmanship have the exact same principles and require much of the same skills, don't they?

Cool. I'll use the Merchant Marine template from The 1920s Investigator's Companion.

Gomez, I find it terribly entertaining that you've joined on Friday the 13th

Amelia Earhart? (ears perk up, smiling....)

Go on??? Is this an npc or possibility for a playing character?

NPC I am sorry to say. But the idea of her being a PC is interesting. Let me think about it.

Ok, no problem, it's not like I need another game really.

I edited and withdrew my entry....I shouldn't get into another game at the moment. Thanks anyways.

I'm as keen as mustard to play. Are there still spaces left? If so I'll put my thinking cap on and come up with a character. How would you like characters submitted? At this stage I'm thinking along the lines of a graduate student of archaeology/anthropology (double major).

Sure you’re in. An Archaeologist/Anthropologist would fit in perfectly.

Hmm....Ghosts of Mu? As in Lemuria, the motherland?

This sounds interesting. I'd love to join in, if you'll have me.

I don't know what role would fit best in this campaign, but I'd like to play an occultist or student. Or, a student with occult leanings. :)

So this is who we have so far.

SuAside - rich philanthropist??

Aiylithe - occultist or student??

Looks to be a great game setting up. Wish I could join but I'm in too many games already! Whoever gets a chance to join should certainly jump at the chance.

I'm looking forward to the beginning of this...and I think I'm getting the hang of the rules, so you won't have a newbie on your hands for much longer. :D

Cruel, though not so unusual, SuAcide.

Hey Gomez, If you got one more slot ... can I slide in? Let me know one way or the other. I see you posted a '3 times a week' posting rate. Good pace for me.

You know, I was trying to join your "Masks of Nyarlathotep" game somewhere else (I assume you are the same Gomez) but there was no response. Game seems to have died over there. I wish you better luck with this game.

Yeah that was me.

I have my quota of players at the moment but I will put you on the alternate list.

How about a surgical intern off on holiday from the steady grind of peon work?
