The Cthulhu Hack

Post by Priest »

Hi, I'm thinking about running a Cthulhu Hack game. Just checking to see if there's any interest.

Looks like a rules light system for mythos adventures:

Seems a little abstracted so would need some keeper work and player buy in to keep the story interesting and to not feel too random. I'd be up for it, sounds like the character generation is relatively easy.

For those interested a free starter copy of the rules is available https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/19 ... t_filtered

Of course these are only basic rules. Think a dirty set of CoC, or as Eric Dodd says, "... If you liked the simplicity of Cthulhu Dark but felt you needed a few more tools and levers to build a game around, without having to track 40 or 50 skills or detailed weapon statistics, then The Cthulhu Hack might be just what you’re looking for." (RPGGeek)

I'm working on a story, so bear with me

After much thought, I've decided against this and stick to straight Call of Cthulhu. I am thinking I will try a TOME scenario I bought way back in 1983, so hopefully no one will have played it. Called 'The Arkham Evil' and set in America and begins in the spring of 1919. Anyone interested?
