CoC 7e - The Sign of Virgo

Post by robertod »

Hello,
I´m willing to run a Classic Call of Cthulhu game (Innsmouth-like mood) following the 7 edition rules. I´m looking for a group of 3-5 players. All players are welcome and no experience is required.

Here follows a brief introduction.

Portland, Maine
August, 1928.
Steven Gilbert is a wealthy businessman, a leading exponent of the bourgeoisie of the roaring twenties. He sees his heritage project going up in smoke, when Timothy, his only six-year-old son, disappears.
A group of investigators will try to find his missing son. The group may include:

1) Police detectives
2) Private detective hired by Gilbert
3) Relatives or friends strongly motivated to find the missing kid

But Timothy´s disappearance is not the only gloomy burden weighting on the Gilbert family. Alyssa, Timothy's mother, committed suicide one year ago, and the reason for such an extreme action are still obscure.

Welcome, Roberto! I've validated you, so now you can post on the game boards.

I'd be interested in playing. I can also create the board for the game. When you have enough players and are ready to get started, you can let me know by posting here, and I'll create it for you and make you the Keeper. I'll need a text blurb that will be displayed on the front page describing the game. The introduction you've posted above will work well, but if you want something different, you can post it here.

I might give this a try, with the proviso that my weird work schedule keeps me away from the computer for as much as a week at a time sometimes.

Maybe one of the friends/relatives who doesn't take much active part, but screams a lot.

We can begin with the character creation. So, the players interested are:
Mr. Handy, jp1885, Turstrigo and VictoriaSilverwolf.
Mr. Handy, you can create the game.

Write a few words about the concept you would like to play in this setting.
Realistically, there will be a police detective involved in the investigation. If none of you wants to play him, it has to be a NPC following the group,
at least at the beginning.
The other players could be almost any kind of character, as long as they have strong motivation to find the missing boy.
Could be also a character who was shocked by Alyssa´s suicide, and thinks that the kid´s disappearance must be related.

I've created the forum here and made you the Keeper.

I was thinking of playing a private investigator who specializes in finding missing children, but I could play the police detective if nobody else wants to do it.

If nobody else wants it, I could play the role of the police detective.

If somebody wants it, I'd be a concerned relative.

I've a mind to play either a beat cop, drafted in to help the detectives, or thier secretary, who possesses a few investigative skills of her own. Whatever you prefer :)

I'm thinking of playing as a former WW1 nurse, who's a relative/friend of the family.

Thanks Mr. Handy!
The first thread of the game are ready, we can move there to the OOC to discuss about the characters.
There´s a personal topic for each of you, where you can discuss the Character creation and then post your sheet. As soon as everybody has done we´ll start.
