Servants of the Lake

Post by Philulhu »

The phone rang. Picking up the receiver, you heard the clipped voice of an older man, one you faintly recognised. “My name is Gerald Frazer. I understand that you are a friend of my son, James.”

“He has gone missing. I require your assistance in bringing him home again...”

Servants of the Lake is a short, one-shot investigation for 3-4 players, set in the classic era. We will be using the 6th edition of the rules. In terms of posting frequency, the target is 4-5 times per week but more won’t be a problem (:)).

The investigators will be friends of James Frazer; either friends from school, college or elsewhere. The scenario was written for novice players so if you haven’t played before and would like to take the plunge, then sign up below (peper757 will be one of the investigators and it’s his first play by forum game). Also, I’d ideally like at least one experienced player on board so if you’re interested, sign up below.

Once we have enough players interested, we’ll make a start.

Thanks, Mr Handy. You’re welcome to join in :)

We have three players so we have enough to play but I’ll give it another 24 hours to see if we get one more, then we can make a start.

I've created the forum here and made you Keeper. You didn't specify the era, but I looked it up on YSDC's wiki and saw that it's Classic era. I used the first two lines from your initial post as the blurb. If you'd like to change either one, please let me know, and I'll edit the forum.

Thanks, Mr H! :)

Classic era is correct. I’ll set up a couple of threads but will have to wait until tomorrow to add more details.

Character creation details are now in the Character thread (https://www.callofcthulhu.org.uk/pbp/vi ... 438&t=6473) so please head on over and set up your characters.

Mr H - could you please change the blurb to:

The voice on the phone said, "I understand that you are a friend of my son, James. He has gone missing. I require your assistance in bringing him home again...”

A university student has gone missing. Can his friends find out what has happened to James Frazer in 1920s Massachusetts?

Hi Bullfrog, sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, I think we can fit you in.

I’m planning to start this weekend, so if you can have your character ready by then, that would be great. If you head over to the OOC Chat thread and introduce yourself then you’ll pick up any updates going forward.

Thanks.
