Thinking of running Delta Green

Post by Silver Priest »

Hey guys. I've run a Delta Green game before, but not the new rules. I'm keen to give them a try, but I need some victims to subject to the horrors of my learning a new system.

For those that don't know, Delta Green is a mix of conspiracy and Lovecraftien horrors. The game was originally set in the 90's, but recent updates have pushed the setting into the present day. I'd like to stick with the 90's setting however, both because I enjoy it and because the modern day setting has not been fully released yet.

Players would be taking the role of FBI agents in early 1999. (If the game continues long enough and characters die/new players join, character concepts can be expanded.) In the midst of investigating a case for the bureau, things take an unusual turn...

If enough folks are interested, I'll gladly help with character creation and the like. Right now I'm just gauging if enough people want to play.

I'm interested in playing. I backed the new Delta Green on Kickstarter, and I'd like to get more experience with it too.

Glad to hear there's interest!

Unfortunately RL's thrown me a sudden curve ball, and it might be a few weeks before I can devote myself to running this. I'll let you all know when things improve. Sorry for getting your hopes up prematurely. :(

That's okay, I can wait. When you're ready, just post here along with the name of the sceanrio and a short text blurb describing it. Then I can create a forum for it and make you the Keeper.

I'm going to look into starting this up early in the new year. We'll probably run through one scenario, and if it proves enjoyable for all involved I may be persuaded to continue it. I'd like to have around three players, give or take. Is anyone still interested? :D

I'm definitely still interested. I'm reading the original Delta Green sourcebook at the moment. It should be good fun, in a horrific way.

Great, glad to hear it! But it seems like you guys have some familiarity with the setting. Which is totally fine, but I was planning to run Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays. If folks are familiar with it I might try something else as an introduction.

I've never played Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays before or been exposed to spoilers from it, but I would like to play it.

I'm not familiar with it either. I can see it's one of the scenarios in the book so I'll avoid reading them. I'd like to try it!

Excellent. We'll stick with it then.

Mr. Handy, could you please make a forum for the game. How about Delta Green: S-Cell

"The year is 1999. A group of agents with the FBI quickly discover a routine case is anything but. Thrust into a world that's as incomprehensible as it is deadly, can this team hope to hold back the darkness?"

Anyone else out there is still more than welcome to join. :D We won't be kicking off for a bit yet.

Sadly I think we're full up at the moment. However if the game continues to further scenarios, I might be able to find a way in for you. :D And if there are any vacancies I'll be sure to let you know.
