Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
I would be interested in running an improvised game of Trail of Cthulhu for a group experienced players with a familiarity with Trail of Cthulhu. For information on how I plan to try an improvised ToC game, please refer to Improvising with Gumshoe from Pelgrane Press. Also refer to Trail of Cthulhu on the Fly on the Yog-Sothoth.com forums.
Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
All rright, jabonko, you rrrogue, I'll play yourr game.
Seriously, I got ToC at Origins and have created four characters and am working through the examples of play, etc. So if this happens, I'd like in.

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
Excellent.
I'd like to keep the group small. So one-three players would be ideal. We'll see what happens.

Currently at two players:
Gaffer
AirborneXO
I think I'll wait until closer to the end of the week to see if anyone else is interested, then I'll start the game over the weekend. Sound good?

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
Should be okay for me.
I will be moving house over the next month, but it's always something, innit?

Currently at three players:
Gaffer
AirborneXO
Big Dutch
I'd like to start the game as soon as we have our forum section. If you think you need to drop out, please let us know. Since this is an improv game, it should be relatively easy to have players drop in/out when needed.

OOOPS!
I am both Gaffer and Big Dutch.
I forget to log on and off, so it's just you plus two, jabonko.

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
This sounds cool - it'll force me to really read the ToC rules carefully.
Jabonko, how often are you expecting people to post?
Is there room for one more?

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
What sort of characters are we looking for? Will they start out knowing one another?
ToC suggests a balancing of skills, will we attempt that?

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
Coffee Demon: plenty of room, welcome aboard!
Frequency of posts: to keep the game alive I think a minimum of one every day or two. But it would be awesome if we could get more.
Character creation: I want to wait to handle that until we've discussed theme and such. We'll be doing it semi collaboratively.
Balance of Skills: It's a good idea. But if you look at the "ToC on the fly" article and forum thread, you'll see that we're gonna cater the adventure to the skillsets we have. So if no one has Art History, we won't be looking at a lot of paintings. If everyone has Library Use, we'll probably be in a library a lot.

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
I'm interested. If you decide to go for 4 players (or if you lose someone) please let me know. I've been itching to try my hand at ToC for a while...

Re: Improvised Trail of Cthulhu?
Let's call it at four players. I'm excited to get started, and we can start once we have a forum section.
The player list as it stands:
