I guess I'll just make it harder to get to the next level (which should not be for a while anyway.) Keep the increased Charisma.

I finished Hunter's Song. I enjoyed it - my one caveat would be that I hope Lila needs a little less saving in the next book. Which does of course also mean that I hope there a next book. It was very kind of you to put us in the acknowledgments - thankyou.

Thank you, it's a huge compliment just to be read, and I much appreciate your very astute and useful critical feedback, too.

On another note it appears that our presenter is experiencing some technical difficulties preventing her from posting at present, which hopefully will be resolved shortly.

I'm going to be away for a couple of days. If Victoria's login problems resolve themselves while I'm gone, don't hold the game up for me any further; assume Ines will go along with whatever Henry and Lila suggest - if it comes to fighting miscreants under the trapdoor, she'll use her brass knuckles, and get between them and Elizabeth if all possible.

I saw that, too. I was definitely one of those people who didn't realize how different this earlier period was to Victorian.

I'm away for 5 days also, then back Monday and Tuesday (here in the USA.)

It might be best for all the adventurers to plan what they shall do once they reach Paris and environs.

Regarding Paris I think we have three main possible goals:

1. Delivering the letter to the Lamont family Ines is carrying.

2. Investigating the rumors of rising supernatural forces.

3. Hunting down Violette Dupray to stop her from more madness.

(There is also still the matter of the mirror with the Wraith trapped inside and my character is stuck back at Level 1 until I can find out more about it.)

It's possible we could split up and each take a different issue.

Of these three goals, the letter is the least time sensitive - there's no indication that waiting puts the woman in Rochester in any jeopardy. But it's also likely to be the quickest to get done, whether in success or failure. Apart from the mission itself, the DuPont family and their servants may also be a last opportunity to get news of events in Paris from people close at hand. Lastly, it's the least likely to be dangerous.

I think Violette DuPray will also be looking for us. Marrying Elizabeth to Antoinne and killing Mr Witherly's loved one don't seem like crimes of opportunity - they seem targeted.

Rising supernatural forces is a vague thing to investigate - we could lose ourselves in that mission very easily. I also wonder if it may be connected to what DuPray is doing.

It might be worth trying the Bibliothèque Nationale and Bibliothèque Mazarine for information on the wraith.

I'm wary of splitting up with three of us injured.

I agree, we should stick together as much as possible. Yes, let's deliver the letter first. At least we don't have to worry about delivering the chest of mail any more, and we've already found Antoine. We will have to track down Violette somehow - or she'll track us down, as she has apparently done this time.

I jumped in the deep end, taking on Elizabeth. I thought that I'd be swimming by now, but I'm still sinking. To be honest, I'm gonna quit. Apologies, especially to Victoria.

I have absolutely no problem with how you were handling the character, so you would be welcome to continue.
