OOC:   Charlotte's whereabouts also seemed to be unclear this morning. Has she made herself known since, or are there two de Hautommes children yet to find?

"Mr Guillaume showed little heed to his safety when he left," says Ines. "Might that mean he knew of some shelter nearby?"

"There was that cave where those other two soldiers apparently took shelter," says Henry.

Lila heads outside and searches the grounds around the Chateau for any sign of Guillaume's tracks, with a detour to the stables to inquire if any horses are missing which might indicate a greater distance traveled.

It is soon determined that Charlotte, not caring for all the ado which has recently arisen at the Chateau, has spent most of the time in her chamber, composing letters and reading novels. It seems likely that Isaac will remain in residence, continuing to serve as her tutor, whilst plans are made for the upcoming nuptials, after an appropriate period once the banns are announced, of Stephan and Raquel.

An examination of the nearby caves wherein the deceased soldiers found shelter shows no evidence that they have been inhabited in recent days. Nor are any horses unaccounted for.

The roughness of the grounds near the Chateau make it impossible to determine where Guillaume has gone. It seems that some other manner of investigation is required.

"Perhaps we can ask people who live near the Chateau if they have seen him," suggests Henry.

"This would presuppose that he headed in the direction of the village," Lila puts in. "Otherwise we can only hope to pick up his trail somewhere in the wider countryside where the ground is less rough. He cannot have gone too far on foot."

These two strategies having been suggested, and the concern for Guillaume's whereabouts being of general concern to those at the Chateau, it seems likely that the adventurers will wish to decide which among them will make inquiry at the village, and which will explore the countryside. They may also invite others in residence to accompany them, although there is no guarantee than such suggestions will be accepted.

Lila naturally elects to explore the countryside, and inquires if Isaac would care to accompany her.

"I shall try the village," says Ines. With a slight smile she adds, "There are always some folk willing to gossip about the misfortunes of the higher classes."
