Chit-Chat

Several people arrive at the Appledown Train Station eager to be on the last train north to Ashford. Unfortunately nothing is at seems and everything goes downhill from there.

Sorry about the slow or quick posts. Was out of town last week with the sudden death of my step mom of 29 years...so, trying to get back into the swing of things with these posts and such...things went as well as they could go last week...huge attedance at Mom's funeral and my speech went well. But, now to get things about me here back in order.

My sympathies, seriously. Deaths are always hard to take and I absolutely understand if you need to take breaks here and there.

Just idying up the threads by putting up the first posts on those that had people leaving certain rooms, so folks won't need to scroll up to read them.

Ok, took the 2 points damage to health. So the Countess difinetly hit with that roll, wow. But help me understand the damage table in the book. When we roll damage we roll the d6 adjusted by the table on pg. 61 - so should the damage I took be the 1 rolled? Or does she actually have a sword? that would explain the +1!!! Ah.......

It's a -1 but the dice roller mistook a - for a +. Technically you took 0 damage ... so it's just a flesh wound. She definitely hit, but ooooonly a flesh wound. The blade would normally be a -2 because of size but it's super sharp so I gave her a -1 version.

I'm pretty out of it at the moment, so the past week and next week will likely involve slower posts than normal. This won't be permanent. I haven't gotten bored. I'm loving this game, but I can only post when I have the energy to do so. Which is weird for me, because it's just a few sentences, right? But right now, still requires a bit more energy than what I got. I will still aim to get two posts a week done as I don't want the game to falter. It's got a lot of promise, and you've only just scratched the surface, and I really want to see your reactions to some upcoming stuff. Post here soon!

Thanks for the heads up...have been up to my eyeballs starting the evening teaching gig I do a few times a year for the local community college - global issues...fun, but additional franticness if that is a word to my world. My oldest also got married two weeks ago...she was a beautiful bride and very happy. A great guy too!

So, hope you get the energy you need for all that you have going on!

No problem, I was in LA for a wedding this past weekend and my phone had issues. My girlfriend and I went early to explore. Spent time at the Getty Villa and the Getty; visited the Adamson House in Malibu...wow...; Saw the premier of Doctor Strange - highly recommended; and did a mini hike to the former set location of the 4077 MASH unit. We had a great time. Back to thigs here at the office.

For Overlord
OOC:   Actually, my bad, she just went off in the wrong direction. You would have seen her enter the Smoking Car as it links from this one. You could go after her in that direction. I forgot that she'd been given a confusing directive. Just change to go into the Smoking Car.

Please remember to roleplay your current stability and not just any losses. Now we have reached a point in the game where a few characters' stability has eroded quite nicely, I'll reveal one of the sub-rules. You can potentially regain stability by taking a rest period in one of the areas described as warm and cozy -- these include the Lounge Car and the Railway Station Main Waiting Room. More may be uncovered. A rest area requires a time of rest that includes the character doing something listed as a Source of Stability -- try to involve another character and look at around 8 - 10 posts altogether so that you're not sitting there bored. There are a few NPCs around.

Some places will slowly drain your stability if you stay there for too long. If you hit 0, you'll have some big reaction and then drop a point of sanity. Unlike most games, you'll regain your senses after 5 minutes so you can keep going. This lets me keep draining you.... Fun things happen once you lose a third of your sanity, then the third after that. It is recommended that you take a few jolts of stability here and there. It's assumed you'll at least lose one third by the end.

Yep. Definitely. Still use your sources of stability as I might reduce some of the stability losses -- give you more breaks between the inevitable, but the rest of the place is just too damn spooky to be calming.

Laraqua, I've been updating my sheet so far, since it's on one of my posts and I can edit it. So my 2-points Scuffling spend has been removed twice, as I think both you and I edited the sheet (everything else is fine). Tell me if you prefer to handle the updating, I'll leave it to you to avoid confusion.
