Yes, you're welcome to join, Waylander! It's a homebrewed campaign, so it's not official in the sense of being published, but it is long-running and successful. You could either take over the character of Raymond MacIntyre, though that would require some catching up and it is a complicated character, or you could create a new UNIT character as I've mentiioned above.

Hi Mr Handy,

That looks like a lot of reading up, which I probably don't have time for. Apologies for not replying sooner :)

That's all right, though you really only need to catch up if you want to take over Raymond MacIntyre. If you create your own UNIT character, there's absolutely no catching up at all (in fact, you're not allowed to read the other characters' IC threads until after the adventure is over). If you'd rather not, that's fine. I plan to start the fourth scenario in this campaign, which will be set in ancient Rome, after this one concludes, so you could join that one. However, you'd need to wait months for that.

Hello, Handy. Yes I am considering this scenario. I just need help with my sheet :(

How far is this campaign?

I can help you. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have here. This scenario (the third one in the campaign, in which the scenarios largely stand alone with mostly loose connections) is approaching the endgame, which is liable to have a lot of action. The Your Career in U.N.I.T. thread lists various character templates and occupational skills for each, though I recommend that you create a character who is either combat-oriented (such as a Soldier or Military Officer) or capable of supporting combat troops (such as a Medical Officer). The Character Creation/Rules thread will walk you through the process and get you started. Keep in mind that this scenario is set in 1985. Your character will also need to be affiliated with UNIT in some way.

Hey, I've just signed up after a very long hiatus and am very interested in jumping into a game. It's been too long since my last adventure (The Dreaming Man, under a different account as a three Cs member). Just seeing if there would be room available here still. I will probably be needing a quick refresher on a couple of things as play goes on, although I should manage reasonably well.

Welcome back! Yes, there's still room. You could create a new UNIT character or take over an abandoned one (other than Valerie Soames, whose old player may return). My Internet is down for at least a couple more days. I'm typing this on my phone. I'll have to wait until it comes back up to validate your new account.

That's fine, I'll probably make a new character. I'm not able to get to a computer until tomorrow night (gmt+10) anyhow, on my phone also.

I've validated you, so now you can post on the game boards.

Any room for another new player? - Andy

Yes, there's room for a new player, though we're into the endgame and you'll need to catch up on some things. You may take over an abaonded character. All of the ones marked as MIA on the Character Sheets thread are available (except Valerie Soames, whose old player may be returning), though the ones in the bottom part of the list require the least back reading. Or you could create your own character who would be a UNIT soldier, and I'll put you into the action somewhere. There'd still be a little catching up, but not as much as for the others.

Apologies - as I've signed up for the Walker campaign, shall take a rain cheque on this one. Thank you anyway - Andy

You're welcome, and you can join the campaign if you have time at a later point. The current adventure is likely to wrap up in May, but the next one (a Cthulhu Invictus scenario called The Brotherhood of Death) should be starting soon after that.

If there are any openings, may I join? I am new to call of cthulhu and play by post so some minor hand holding might be necessary but I will stay interested and post regularly (pinky promise)

Welcome! I've validated you, so now you can post on the game boards. Yes, you can join, and new players are welcome. You may either take over an abandoned character or create a new one, but the new one would need to be a UNIT soldier in order for me to add you in at this point. You can see the characters on the Character Sheets thread. All of the ones marked as MIA are available to be taken (except for Valerie Soames, whose old player may be returning), though some of them will require more catching up before you can start. The ones in the bottom section were added more recently and won't need as much.
