Looking for CoC Player in Birmingham UK

Hello everybody,

I'm moving to Birmingham for a semester abroad in September and would like to start playing Call of Cthulhu with some nice people.
Currently, I'm more used to playing the dark eye as I live in Germany, but I'm reaaly interested in CoC because I really enjoy reading
Lovecraft's stories. I'm a student of 24 year and I study music education btw.

I'm not sure if we've any active members from Birmingham, but there are quite a few Brits, so you might get lucky.

Unfortunately though the majority of players on here tend to be playing by forum because they don't have an existing group for Call of Cthulhu. The community here is relatively small as well.

YSDC is a lot quieter than it used to be as well though to be honest.

The busiest online CoC community at the moment as far as I'm aware is on Reddit (and it's very friendly unlike most of Reddit), https://www.reddit.com/r/callofcthulhu/

If you post on there looking for a group / club, you're much more likely to be successful.

In the meantime, why not have a go at our play by forum games? It's a slow paced, but atmospheric way to play Doc.

Although it is predominantly boardgame-focused, it would be worth signing up to the UK Boardgame Trading & Chat group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKboardgametrade/).

There’s an active gaming scene in Birmingham and you may be able to find some roleplayers there.

I've just reread your post and seen that you're moving to Birmingham from abroad.

Whichever university you're attending, they almost certainly already have a society for role playing games. For example the University of Birmingham has a Tabletop Games Society: https://www.guildofstudents.com/student ... /ttgaming/

If you join the university's society and turn up on games night with a Call of Cthulhu rulebook then you'll create a group there an then it none already exists.

And as you're starting in September there will be plenty of freshers taking a look at the society for the first time themselves.
