Anyone got a space?

Post by Snipersunset »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to Call of Cthulhu and rpgs completely. I'm looking to get in on a game where people don't mind that i am so new and may ask/do stupid things! I'd like to try a 20s or gaslight game preferably.
I don't own any rule books or anything so if i need to get anything before i can join in i would appreciate knowing what i'll need. And if anyone has any tips on things to get/do/read etc i again would appreciate it.

I am really looking forward to getting stuck in and quickly loosing my mind!!

Cheers

You'd be welcome to join my game, though it isn't in one of your preferred eras. It's a Cthulhu Invictus scenario called The Brotherhood of Death set in 44 BC Rome. It's still in the early stages, so it wouldn't be too hard to catch up on it. I could use someone to take over the character of Lucius Verres, or you could create a new character. This is the fourth scenario in my Doctor Who/Call of Cthulhu campaign, but you don't need to know anyting about Doctor Who or the first three adevntures to play (unless you take over Lucius, who has been in the campaign since the beginning). If you do want to read the first three adventures, you can find them in the Hall of Fame via the links in my signature.
Doctor Who/CoC Campaign:

(viewforum.php?f=191)]The Ninth Planet
The Shadow Over Dunwich
The Brotherhood of Death
The Horror in the Blackout
The Masque of Nyarlathotep

That sounds good, give me a couple of days to read the old ones and I'll take over lucius, if you don't mind having a newbie in the game

Great! Take your time, as I'm not quite ready to move things forward yet anyway. Have fun!

That would be quite a dice toss.
Do you have any problems finding players over across the pond?

If you are interested at all, we have a couple of non-CoC games going, based on the Ghastly Affair system.

Free player's guide here:

https://engineoforacles.files.wordpress ... ee-pdf.pdf

This "Gothic game of romantic horror" is designed for the late 18th/early 19th century. There's a game going on here:

https://www.callofcthulhu.org.uk/pbp/vi ... .php?f=387

More recently,we've been experimenting with adapting it to the 1960's:

https://www.callofcthulhu.org.uk/pbp/vi ... .php?f=439

We are all new at this system, so no problem there. I'm making things up as I go along, and player characters come and go, so we can accommodate new players easily. If you are at all interested, let me know and I can walk you through the character creation.
