Ready and willing!

Post by William »

Need another player to spice things up? Need someone to take over a poor, abandoned NPC about to go crazy? Well, I'm your man. But wait! There's more.

I'm familiar with the Chasoium rules. I'm a wee bit rusty, but a bit of perusing this dusty old tome (aka rulebook) here should fix most of that. If you need/want someone for a game, let me know. I'll pay any scenario. Any. Scenario. Can't find anyone to play that ex-hooker turned pickle processor operator with a penchant for kielbasa and ice fishing? Now you can.

Hi William!
I´m starting a game set in Hong Kong. It´s not Cthulhy Mythos but a modern cops story. I need a wheelman for a job described in the pre-grame thread. Even if it´s not your setting, come and play to get a feel of it.
I totally realize that this is not what you´d expect when signing up for a Call of Cthulhu forum, but the fear of dying can be quite sanity draining :D

Welcome, William! I'm running three games, and you'd be welcome to join any or all of them. They all have abandoned characters ready to be picked up. My first Doctor Who/Call of Cthulhu game, The Terror Out of Time, was set in 1930 London and recently finished. However, it is the first scenario in a planned campaign. I started the second game, The Ninth Planet, almost two months ago. It is set in 2112, but you won't need to worry about character creation. Other than surviving characters from the first game, all characters are pregenerated in that one. All of them were claimed, but one player abandoned a character and another has withdrawn from the game, so there's room for two more. You could play Private George Bond (an engineer) or Private Alison Silver (a security officer). I have plans for further adventures in this campaign that will sample other eras. I update this game frequently, and it moves fast. The Terror Out of Time completed in less than a year of real time, and The Ninth Planet will probably not take any longer than that, perhaps less.

Zombie Apocalypse is modern day non-Mythos survival horror and has been running for over five years now, but I'm in the early stages of Chapter 7, which actually marks the beginning of the second day of game time (a lot has been going on during the first day! ). There are several new pregenerated characters I've added for Chapter 7, and you can also create one or two of your own, with which I can help you. It only started in September, so there's little catching up if you play only new characters. I try to update this game once or twice per week, but it's been more like once per week lately. There are plenty of abandoned and unclaimed characters that were added in previous chapters as well, but they require more catching up.

Space Oddity has been running for over two and a half years. It's set in 1969 Philadelphia and is inspired by Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. However, it moves slowly and you could join in without too much trouble, either taking over an abandoned character or creating a new one. Only about 24 hours of game time have passed since that one started. There are plenty of abandoned characters there. We currently only have three players, and one of them hasn't posted in some time.

Great!

I guess I'd like to start with Syrinx's cop game, and The Ninth Planet if that's ok. I'll start looking over stuff and catching up. I'll PM you guys if/when I have any questions. I should be ready to start both games by tomorrow.

Thanks and feel free to send me any information/pointers I'll need,

Will

Welcome aboard! You can find the Ninth Planet here. The first thing you should do is check out the Cast of Characters thread, which has everyone's character sheets. You should also read the three sticky threads above that one. In addition, you may read the Introduction In Character thread in Episode 1, but keep in mind that this is Out of Character information. You will need to decide which character you want to play, George or Alison, and then post your selection in The Zero Room, the OOC chat thread. I'll send you your character's secrets in a PM, and you may also catch up on your selected character's (and only that character's) IC threads. George's first thread in Episode 1 is Pluto Rocks, and Alison's is Security Briefing. You will find hyperlinks in each IC thread that will point you to the next one for your character. Eventually you will get to your character's current thread in Episode 2. Once you've caught up and you've read your character's secrets, you can then start posting in the IC thread at any time.

Great. I've got a character ready to go for Syrinx's game, and from the looks of things I might want to play George in The Ninth Planet, but I've still got some catchin' up to do with that.

Unfortunately, I can't post anywhere except in this thread, unless I am missing something. The reply button shouldn't be that hard to find, right? Beats me as to why. Do I need a certain amount of posts?

EDIT: Aha! I think I need to be validated(?). Could someone be so kind as to validate me? I'll post over in the Welcome forums too in the hope of hastening things.

Yup, someone needed to validate you, and I just did. I was actually in the middle of doing that, but it took me a few minutes to figure out how, as I've never added someone to a group before.

Sorry William. You joined while I had a couple of busy days, I've been doing most of the "validating" so far.

Glad you've been sorted now, welcome to the forums! :)
