New Player

Post by Strangefate »

Hi,

I’m quite new to CoC but not online gaming. I’m open to any game based off of that system. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Mythos-based or even horror (a murder mystery or a thriller could be just as fun), although I would prefer it to be at least semi-realistic. Fantasy/Cthulhu mixes aren’t my thing. Most any era is fine, although I’m not sure I’d be interested in anything earlier than the 1800s.

I’m available for PbP, PBeM, Maptools, OpenRPG, and mIRC games. Can’t do Skype though.

Any interested GMs please PM or contact me at d_strangefate@yahoo.com. (Even once this post grows old, you can still reach me through there. If it sounds like a good game, I’ll be interested.)

Welcome, StrangeFate! You'd be welcome to join any of my games here. Zombie Apocalypse is a lot of fun and easy to jump in and learn, and it always has room for new players. It's modern, and it's also highly lethal survival horror rather than traditional investigative horror. There is some investigation, but staying alive takes priority. It's not Cthulhu Mythos, but it has its own mythology behind it. There are some similar elements, but there are subtle differences. You can (and should) have multiple characters. While there are many pregenerated characters, you also have the option of creating one or two of your own. Chatper 5 is winding down, but Chapter 6 will probably start in late September.

Another game I run, Space Oddity, is inspired by Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes. It's set in Philadelphia in July 1969, and it's closer to traditional investigative horror. There's all sorts of fun weirdness going on, and it's still early in the game. We have a lot of players already, but I can still squeeze you into that one if you're interested.

Finally, I've just started a Doctor Who/Call of Cthulhu game called The Terror Out of Time that's set in 1930 London. It would still be easy to add a new player. While the TARDIS has a full crew already, you could play someone from 1930, and it is possible to become a companion and join the TARDIS crew for later adventures.
