Horatio sees a belt laying on the floor next to the bed. Everyone else but Marga has left the room. The man begins to twist and strain to break your grip. Scratching and biting.

Amy and Roger reach the elevator at the same time. A sign saying Stairs is above a door across from the elevator.

The man facing Gerald laughs. "Old man! I would love to cut your throat.....but....." He says with a foreign accent. He looks down at the alley way and then jumps over the railing and down into the alley.

The man lands hard but stays on his feet. He looks up at Gerald with a wide grin.

The man facing Artemis and Anderson backs up to the edge of the stairs going down to the second story landing. He holds his switch blade out as a threat.

Artemis looked at the man and then lunged forward with the walking stick aiming it at the man's hand and arm.

Amy slaps the elevator call button to summon it to take them down to the lobby. "If it's not here already, I'll take the stairs and you wait for it," she says to Roger. "Whoever gets downstairs first can make the call."

Horatio reaches for something heavy lying nearby, like that solid glass ashtray which has fallen of the night stand, and knocks out the squirming blighter. He then proceeds tying up the man's hand with the belt.

Gerald follows suit down to the first landing to pursue the escaping thug.
If he loses sight of him, he'll yell after him.

"STOP THAT MAN! MOLESTOR!!"

Reaching the street, he moves as fast as possible to keep dogging the thug.
Upon the inevitable loss of the trail, he returns and snatches up his pipe from beneath the scape.

Horatio gets up and brushes off his clothes. He collects his hat and walks back to the bed, a sad look on his faces as he looks at Elias's remains.

"Go with God, old boy.", reverently he places his hat on Jackson's face and then rushes to the window.

"Do you chaps need a hand with these two?", he calls out.

Amy nods and hurries down the stairs, seeing as the elevator wasn't currently here. It was probably already in the lobby, three flights below.

"Drop the knife, now!" Artemis used his voice from when he was in the trenches hoping that it could convince the man to do as he said.

Marga shudders awake from her frozen state, all of this violence has crept on her. "AMY!" Marga runs out and sees Amy disappearing down the stairs. Marga doesn't think twice and follows Amy down.

Marga races after Amy as she heads down the stairs. Roger hits the elevator button and hears it begin to rise up from a lower floor.
Amy,As Amy runs down the stair, thought swirl in her mind. Is Jackson in the room? Is he hurt? Why isn't anyone helping him? And most of all does he need HER?
Horatio sees Gerald run out of the alley out into the street. He is yelling something. Down below he sees movement and hears Artemis yelling but the fire escape blocks his view.

Artemis finally connects with a solid punch to the man's jaw. The man stumbles back and falls backwards down the stairs to the next landing. The man lands in a tangle of limbs and he tries to right himself.

Gerald sees the other man running down the street. There is a lot of noise coming from the crowd across the street and Gerald's yelling draws scant attention. Gerald does see a pair of police men across the street standing by the Theater entrance.

"Officers, that man tried to kill me!" Gearld pants sheepishly and points in the direction the thug is running in. "He's got a knife..."

Seeing that the situation outside is more or less under control, Horatio turns back to room. He looks around, trying to find anything that could help him make sense of the situation and then kneels down next to the unconscious man and rummages through his pockets.

Amy is torn between reason and emotion, but she is still able to hang on to reason for now. The possibility occurs to her that it may already be too late, which would explain why they were keeping her out of the room and weren't doing anything to help Jackson, but she clings to the hope that as long as she doesn't know, it isn't yet established fact. If he is injured but alive, he will need medical help, more than their group can provide. The surest way to get that is to tell the clerk in the lobby and use the telephone to summon an ambulance. Once that's done, or if Roger gets there first, she can just ride back upstairs in the elevator. Her mind made up, she continues quickly downstairs.

Artemis moved down the flight of stairs as quickly as he could. When he got to the lower landing, he kicked at the man trying to keep him from rising and fleeing.

As soon as Roger reaches the ground floor, he'll head towards the reception and ask them to call the police immediately, since there has been a murder. If Amy is nearby, he'll instead say that there are armed man in the hotel and someone has been assaulted. He knows that Amy will have to know sooner or later, but he is trying to postpone that moment as much as possible.

Amy and Marga reaches the lobby before Roger and rush to the front desk to ask for help. Roger comes out of the elevator and quickly over join them. The man at the front desk is confused at first but he quickly picks up a phone to call the police.

Horatio stays in the room and begins a search.

Gerald points to the fleeing man and one of the police pulls out a whistle and blows it. "Right Sir. Stay right here will you." the older policeman says and they both being to run after the thug.

Artemis and Anderson pounce on the man on the landing and quickly disarm and beat the man into submission. During the struggle though Artemis has his arm cut by the man's knife. (1 point of damage).
