IC-Ep 3-Belly of the Beast(Story/Elizabeth/Lucius/Brook)

Brook looks worriedly at Lucius, but darts after Elizabeth. "We still need that dagger, don't we?"

Story emerged from the study in time to see Elizabeth and Brook run down the passage. The two ladies soon reached the wall, which was almost twice as high as either of them. Unless they could somehow get over the wall, they were trapped in a dead end. Lucius positioned himself in the mouth of the passage, gripping his knife with determination. The two guards rushed towards him with their swords in their hands. "Drop your knife, or die!" bellowed one, leveling his sword at Lucius. Meanwhile, another guard emerged from the nearest door, but fortunately he did not have a weapon in his hand. He rushed towards Story. Scaevola stood behind the guards, muttering something unintelligible under his breath.

Lucius knew that the odds were against him, facing off against the two guards bearing down on him. He was outnumbered, and their weapons were deadlier than his, but he had one chance. If he could bring down one of them at the outset, it would be a more even fight. He lashed out with his blade at the guard on his right, but the guard simply took a step back, laughing.

OOC,[b]Lucius[/b]'s Knife roll (59% skill) attacking the second guard: [dice]0[/dice] Everyone else may act before the guards do, except for [b]Elizabeth[/b]. However, nobody can interfere with her this round, so she can go ahead and act now too. [b]Elizabeth[/b] and [b]Brook[/b], if you both wish to climb the wall independently, you should both roll Climb. Alternatively, one of you may try giving the other a boost. In that case, the booster should make a Resistance Table roll pitting her STR against the boostee's SIZ. This gives [b]Elizabeth[/b] a 30% chance to boost [b]Brook[/b] or [b]Brook[/b] a 45% chance to boost [b]Elizabeth[/b]. If the roll succeeds, the one being boosted gets up the wall. If the boost fails, the boostee may still attempt a Climb roll. However, the booster will still be on the ground no matter what happens.

Brook latches her hands like a ladder step to boost Elizabeth's climb. "Here! I'll help you!"

Lucius Verres

Lucius completly miss his strike against the guard. He feared his time has come, but he was not about to give up. Has the guard leave him a bit of space after his knife strike Lucius try to locate the secret entrance of Scaevola that Caelia indicated him back at the egyptian palace. It could serve of an escape point or at least a way to fight one on one due to the tight space.

OOC,Welcome back! You can't really see much from where you are, as you're in a dead end passage and the guards are blocking your view. You can't get past them while they're both standing. However, you didn't see anything while you were in the peristylium earlier. You may roll Idea, but you may not act yet. First [b]Story[/b] gets a turn, and then the bad guys do.

As the guard rushes Story, he recalls his training in Venusian Karate and sends his fist flying towards his assailant.

The guard that rushed Story saw the fist flying at him with alarm, and he instinctively deflected the attack with his arm while leaning aside. He managed to avoid the powerful blow, but he was off-balance and unable to attack himself.

The guard that Lucius had not attacked struck him with one expert slash of his sword, slicing his side wide open. Blood gushed out, and the pain was overwhelming.

Another guard, this one also not armed, emerged from the open door from which the guard engaged with Story had come, following closely behind him.

The shock and agony of Lucius's wound caused him to collapse and lose consciousness. The other guard, the one who hadn't struck Lucius, stepped over his prone and bleeding form as he slung his sword on his back and rushed down the narrow passage towards Elizabeth and Brook, who were now trapped against the rear wall. Brook crouched beside it with her hands cupped, and she tried to boost Elizabeth up when she stepped in them, but she just wasn't strong enough. Desperately, Elizabeth scrambled up the wall and grabbed onto the top of it, then hoisted herself up so that she straddled it. She could only watch in horror as the guard closed in on Brook, his arms outstretched to grab her...

OOC,It's a new round. [b]Lucius[/b] is unconscious, which may have saved his life. [b]Story[/b] and [b]Brook[/b] may act now, before the guards do. [b]Elizabeth[/b] cannot act until after the guards go again.

Brook acts on Instinct, doing what most girls are taught to do if a man comes at them. She tries to knee him in the nuts.

In a moment that felt like an eternity Story the Time Lord sees his friend Lucius fall by the sword, Elizabeth scale the wall, and Brook his youngest companion engaging the enemy. In desperation he yells, "Brook, get out of here!" mere moments before he launches into another Venusian Karate powered attack... hoping for contact.

Story's opponent once again blocked his attack, this time even more expertly. He was obviously trying to hold him off until his partner that he'd awakened arrived, and now he had. The other guard took a swing at Story, but in the chaos of the melee it went wide.

The guard chasing Brook stopped short, and her knee connected with nothing but air. Then he lunged forward and effortlessly seized her about the waist. "I've got her," he told the guard who had just downed Lucius. "Get the other one!" That guard also stowed his sword and stepped over Lucius, soon reaching the base of the wall where Elizabeth was perched. From there she could see the estate's grounds beyond it, and another wall bordering the estate not far away.

Then it's back to the top of the round, when it's [b]Story[/b] and [b]Brook[/b]'s turn. Since all three of you go before the guards do, you may all act again now.

"Come and get me!" shouts Elizabeth to the guards, taunting them, as she drops down to the other side of the wall. Assuming she lands ok she will try to run as far as possible, hoping to attract some of the guards away from her friends.

With renewed determination upon seeing Brook snatched up, Story lashes out at the guard in front of him.
