Newton Passes over his walkie to Dr. Strongs 'Take this walkie, it will get you on private line to Dr. Shields at Inn, Move to the safer place if you find anything approaching your way..and inform us of your status..We will sent guards back at cottage once situation at Inn is resolved'..'now let me hear, what is that Dr. Kirby shared about her work to convince you...then we can conclude this visit'

[Mr. Handy]

"Thank you," said Dr. Strong. "She showed me her UNIT identification and told me the gist of what you lot do. I'd never heard of it before, but I suppose that's because it is a secret organisation. I had to sign the Official Secrets Act and everything."

Newton Moves out of cottage...'Roberts, lets heads towards convoy..' then talks to prisoner ' ..did you know Zeke Baker dr was talking about..?'

ooc,I like to roll spot hidden and listen while moving towards convoy..also like to search convoy for any firearms or explosives..

"He's just some old fisherman," said Brian.

OOC,Yes, please roll Spot Hidden and Listen. What do you mean by the convoy? Are you talking about the armored vehicles parked outside the inn?

Newton led the group back down the street to the inn, where Salem stood, looking out towards the beach. "We've got a problem," he said. "That Sea Devil and a man on the beach are holding our sailors hostage. The man has a knife to one of their throats. Our soldiers have rifles, but we don't dare shoot for fear of hitting them, or of the enemy killing our guys even if that doesn't happen."

The Armored Personnel Carriers outside the inn did not carry explosives or portable weapons. They did have belt-fed machine guns that were mounted on the vehicles, though they were indiscriminate weapons and their ammo was a different caliber than his rifle.

'We need to leave that decision up to sergeant here, we will wait and see, meanwhile, Roberts, McCoy can you find me ammo for that machine guns on the vehicles...and secure the prisoner' Newton talks in hurry..'also Dr. Shields we have to let brigadier know of sea devils and wait for next orders... '

[Mr. Handy]

"Here now, what do you think you're doing?" said the sergeant to Newton. "Those are my men. I only sent them with you as an escort. What do you want with machine gun ammo anyway?"

Salem nodded and got on the radio to the Brigadier. "Greyhound One, this is Trap One," he said. "There's a Sea Devil and what looks to be one of their half-breeds on the beach with five surviving sailors from Greyhound Two. They're holding them hostage. Looks like a standoff to me, sir."

"Understood," replied the Brigadier. "Keep your eyes on them for now, but take no hostile action yet. We can't risk their lives."

'Alright Sergent, I won't ask your men anything, can I get ammo for machine guns as it may provide advantage over sea Devils, considering their size and strength... ' Newton talks with Sergent.

[Mr. Handy]

"And what do you think you're going to do with that ammo?" asked the sergeant. "It's the wrong caliber for our rifles. I think it's of more use in the machine guns themselves."

OOC,[b]Newton[/b], you may roll against your choice of either Persuade of Fast Talk, but you must explain what you want to do with the ammo.

'..ammo is for machine guns on vehicle only..and I want to know if its at disposal once need arises..' Newton talks with uncertain tone.

"The only chaps on this operation with man-portable machine guns are guarding the Dunwich perimeter," said the sergeant. "Except for Lieutenant Engraham, who's got a Bren gun, but he's with the mansion group. That ammo will only be useful if it's feeding the machine guns in the APCs. Leave it where it is."

'That's good to know, Sargeant!'... Newton tries to get away from Sargeant. Newton heads into the restaurant with prisoner... 'Dr. Shields, I want to tell you something before I call in brigadier for some macine gun ammo.. '

OOC,I don't know what to roll for this I want to tell Dr. Shields about progress so far on Dr. Kirby' s unexpected visit at Inn just before rescue.

"If you do that," said Salem, "he'll have you up on insubordination charges. I know you're new to the military, but we have a strict chain of command. You can't go over your commanding officer's head, which in this case is me. The sergeant already told you not to, but you're not in his squad. He's under my command the same as you are. Now, if you have a good reason for wanting that machine gun ammo, you can explain it to me. If it makes sense, I'll tell the sergeant to let you have it. And of course, you should tell me about the other thing you wanted to bring up."

OOC,You can just tell him what you want. You don't need to roll anything unless you want to convince him to approve of a course of action, such as letting you have some machine gun ammo. In that case, you'll have to make another Fast Talk or Persuade roll. You'll also need to explain your case.

'You may be right there Dr. Shields, maybe we will not even require ammo of that much power..its better if I let you decide that..but considering UNIT survivors at sea devils mercy at beach..we might need to strengthen our defences..'
'I was going to tell you that my visit to rose cottage was very helpful, person we met there, Dr. Strong already knows Dr. Kirby..even that He is been recruited by Dr. Kirby. I trust this person and I think he can help us more..but we need to secure him once situation at beach is dealt with..'Newton Continues.

'I have provisioned him with walkie, which is over private communication to ship Inn..'Newton then hands over paper from logbook to Dr. Shields, 'I am not certain about this visit entry of Dr. Kirby to Ship Inn with Brigadier..Just few hours before you rescue Dr. Kirby,..is there something you know of..also Dr. Strong mentioned of two person names Dr. Kirby was investigating..Zeke Baker and Mrs. Beth Armistead.'

"If you think the ammo will be more useful inside, you can take it," said Salem. "If the sergeant objects, tell him I authorised it. Dr. Kirby did check in to the inn a few days ago. They claimed she checked out, but she never did. Lake kidnapped her, and they falsified the log to make it look like she checked out. Were you present at the briefing? They told us that Dr. Kirby originally came here to investigate the origins of Simon Armistead. Beth Armistead was his mother, a historian who came here in 1954 to do research on Dunwich. One of those Sea Devils must be Simon's real father. That's why he was starting to change. Zeke Baker is an old fisherman. He was much younger then, and he was the one who found Beth on the beach and brought her to Dr. Strong. You did a good job bringing him here. He'll be safer in the inn than he would be at home."

Just then, the sound of gunfire came from behind the inn. The back door flew open and a UNIT soldier burst inside, sheer terror in his eyes!

'are we under attack...?' Newton reloads rifle. 'Dr. Shields, get on radio now, we may need backup right now..'

OOC,well I never offered Dr. Strong to come along, he is still in his house, if you want him at inn then that's ok with me.

[Mr. Handy]

"Trap One to Greyhound One!" shouted Salem over the radio, fear in his voice. "We're under attack!" More gunfire came from behind the inn, and then the guns fell silent, followed by screaming that was then cut off by a horrible squelching sound!

The soldier continued to flee, heading to the front of the inn. "Stop!" called Salem, chasing after him. "Get a hold of yourself! We need to defend the inn!"

"Trap One, this is Gordon of Greyhound One," said Dr. Gordon Baxter's voice on the radio. "I've temporarily lost contact with the rest of my unit, what's your team's status?"

OOC,I had thought you were bringing him with you, but since that wasn't your intention, he's back at his cottage.

'We need to hide this communication gear first..' Newton puts out lights and moves in front of inn with Brian. 'did you find what happened, Dr. Shields?..is there any backup available?'

[Mr. Handy]

Salem caught up with the fleeing soldier in the lobby and took hold of him by the shoulder. "Calm down," he said in a soothing voice. "If we break and run, we're lost. But if we stick together, we can hold this place." The words seemed to have an effect on the soldier, and he visibly relaxed. "Take care of it, Private!" he shouted back to the dining room where Newton waited. "No further response from the Brig. The only backup we have that can get there in time is the guards out front!" He opened the front door. "Sergeant, take half your squad and circle around back! Take an APC!"

At the same time, another soldier burst in through the back door, out of breath. He slammed the door, locked it behind him, and leaned on it, panting. His eyes were wide with terror. "That...thing! It ate them! It ate them all!" Then there was a pounding on the door from outside. "Help!" shouted a man's voice. "Let us in!" Before anyone could react, something massive slammed into the rear wall of the inn.
