No, I haven't read the MoM rules yet. I'd like a random investigator too, but I don't want to exclude Lily or Jim from the possibilities.

A comment upon Rise of the Elder Things: defeating a Cultist is a bonus, and moving to the Plateau of Leng is a fab way to get about, there is a similar location ability there to whiz an Investigator around the world (I'll post an image of the MoM board soon).

Sounds like a good idea to me, but we can resolve setup before making a final decision. I like the addition of Preludes. What's a Character Unique Asset, and how does Focus work?

I like our characters! I think I'll use my free skill improvement on Will.

Yes, we'll decide after setup--I felt excited at the prospect and got ahead of myself! A Character Unique Asset is like an Ally from AH; and Focus, gain one as an Action, is a reroll, like a Clue in AH, and can be used for some MoM effects--an encounter might ask you to spend a Focus to gain X.

I like 'em too. Ursula's ability is a huge benefit on the MoM side board, and you can be sure that Agnes will spend an Action and roll Lore to gain several Spells!

I'm eager to get started too! Character Unique Assets look great, and I most likely will be picking one up as well.

Agnes Baker will be the Lead Investigator in Turn 1.

The board thread says the expedition is in Arkham. Shouldn't that be The Amazon? If it is, I can get there on Turn 2. I could use my Character Action on Turn 1 to move to Cape Town and buy a Ship Ticket, then Travel with my second Action. Of course, we haven't seen the initial Mythos card yet.

The Expedition at Arkham is correct; MoM introduces a few new locations. I like your thinking, though, because Agnes can make it there in Turn 1. . . .

The 1st Mystery requires spending a Clue at a location on the MoM board; should Ursula make use of her Mineralogy Research?

Heading for Antarctica sounds like a good plan to me. I'll probably head to Sydney on Turn 1 (I hope my Character helps me out in a fight). Alternatively, I could go to Buenos Aires first and go to Sydney on my way back if I pick up the .45 Revolver somewhere first. On Turn 2 I can reach Antarctica. If I go through the Gate, I can come out in the Plateau of Leng. Is movement between Antarctica and the Miskatonic Outpost free, or do I need to use an Action to accomplish that?

I'll almost certainly lose some more Health, but it's worth it if I can win. I'll gain an Axe and have a crack at the Gate. Can I use my special ability to spend 0 Focus and get one reroll? Do we start with any Focus?

Okay, I've posted! Health deducted; I play that Ursula's ability is only for an effect and not for a reroll; we start with 0 Focus.
