As soon as you finish your character, post them.

Sorry, I thought you had already made characters for us. I think it was actually Mr. Handy who said he had leftover characters we could use. Either way. I will look up how to make a delta green character (I'm used to regular 1920's Call of Cthulhu) and will have one posted before tomorrow. It will be a biologist/medical guy

I'm sorry, I haven't had much time or much sleep lately.

I do have two old Delta Green characters, and I was thinking that I could play either one of them. I hadn't thought of giving one of them to you. However, they both need a good deal of work. Dr. Olivia Carpenter was made for Trail of Cthulhu/Night's Black Agents, so she'd need to be completely recreated. Laurel Nichols is a Call of Cthulhu character, but the game she was in had special rules for character creation, so I'll need to assign all of her skill points. I do plan to play Laurel, but I don't have time to finish rebuilding her tonight, and I won't have time tomorrow night either, but I'll try to get it done as soon as I can.

Found a character I like on the Delta Green.com website. I don't much like making long character descriptions and histories and prefer to use already made characters whom I can subtly modify. I hope this is alright.

NAME: John T. Rogers

AFFILIATION: Agent Michael

OCCUPATION: Case Officer, CIA Directorate of Operations

EDUCATION: M.D., University of Wales College of Medicine

SPECIALTIES: Medicine, psychology, biology

BACKGROUND: Born in Wales to American diplomats, Rogers attended the University of Wales Medical College in Cardiff. Both parents were killed in a terrorist attack on their home in 1986, a fact which may have drawn him to the CIA two years later. Intelligent and extraordinarily athletic, Rogers excelled in clandestine service training at Camp Perry. He spent a year stationed in Madrid, then with the collapse of the Eastern Bloc he was reassigned to DEA/CIA anti-narcoterrorism operations in Central and South America.

Rogers’ first exposure to the paranormal occurred in a 1995 operation against the Cali cartel in Colombia; he never learned the truth of the affair, but a monstrous demonic creature attacked during a CIA raid, and the child of a cartel boss was killed by Rogers in the crossfire. Ostensibly for his own safety, Rogers was reassigned to the New York station; but hardly a year passed before he was embroiled in operationSYNCHRONICITY, a Delta Green investigation of a violent gang of Modernist ghouls. The incedent with the animals and several other "unnaturals" afterward led to an interest in animal biology to better know the weak points of those inhuman things that lurk in the shadows. By the end of that bloody series of investigations he was briefed as a Delta Green agent.

Rogers is single and lives alone in New York City.

Laurel Nichols suffers from gigantism, a medical condition that caused excessive production of growth hormone that propelled her to gargantuan proportions. At over seven feet tall, Laurel is freakishly huge, though she might have been attractive had she looked the same with normal proportions. Growing up, she was never bullied - most bullies were too intimidated by her huge frame to pick on her, and the ones that weren't soon regretted it, as she fought back. Laurel has a strong sense of justice which led her to pursue a career in law enforcement, where her incredible size is often an advantage. After graduating from college with a degree in criminal justice, she has recently been accepted to the U.S. Marshals.

Very well, I like both chars. But, for what I know, CIA is an intelligence service that works usually in foreign countries, dealing with threats to USA security. This means that you will be probably doing missions outside of the USA since it would be the FBI that would deal with internal threats. Am I correct?
And for doing missions outside of the USA you need some more skills in other languages: Spanish and Arab. I think it will be fun if we make missions outside of the USA (actually, this will be better to me, with less chance of committing mistakes, since I'm not American :D ). I'm ok with games inside or outside of the USA, as long as we have fun.

With the marshals, for what I know, they work in the USA, but may occasionally deal with American criminals outside of the USA. Am I correct?

I believe you're correct on both counts. A U.S. Marshal might go to other countries in order to pursue a wanted fugitive, I think.

Re: OOC

Hey drone, the Delta Green standard is code name for cell members is the same as their cell letter. So all members of cell P should have code names with a P, Paula, Paulus Patrick? Peter? Percy? The higher the letter the higher your seniority is in the organisation ie Cell A the bosses are Alphonse, Adam and Andrea.

Unless Agent Michael has been sent to the newly constituted Cell P as its leader?

Fumbles typically result in something pretty nasty happening - guns misfire or hit the wrong peole, people get hurt. With a language skill its probably something like:

"Well it says goldsmiths (orfebre) at least I'm pretty sure that is what orfanato (orphanage) means."

....or your head explodes. It's up to the Keeper really.

Do you just want a new thread, or do you want a new subforum? Anyone can create a new thread, and the Keeper can move posts into it. If you want a new subforum, then I'll need to create it.

Re: OOC

Mr H / Kabukiman what I was suggesting was simply a new thread starting from - viewtopic.php?f=335&t=5497&start=400#p181763

Normally I'd suggest a new subforum when the story starts a new chapter, but there is only the "Wild Dog" thread in this subforum anyway.

Just a thought.

Re: OOC

by Mr. Handy
I'll wait to hear from Kabukiman to confirm that he does in fact want a subforum before I create one. If all he wants is a thread, he can already do that. If he does want a subforum, it might be better to create one for the old chapters and then keep the new one in the main forum, but I don't think that's necessary. There's no reason not to just have all of the threads in the main forum.

This is a list of stuff we would ideally have, its not all illegal, but it would be better to have it all arranged and in place before we arrive by someone local who wont necessarily attract attention from the local authorities.
  • Ideally AK-47 or G3 Assault rifles for each of us, they are popular weapons in Libya where they are apparently readily available.

Likewise an automatic pistol for each of us

    Body armour if possible

Ammunition for all of the above

    GPS gear x3

    Satellite Phone/phones

Half a dozen burner phones (disposable mobiles)

We should be able to bring decent cameras into the country as part of our tourist cover, but decent telephoto lenses are likely to draw attention (being mistaken as journalists is as bad as being mistaken as spies)

Camping and hiking kit we can/should bring as part of our tourist cover.

Decent trauma kits for all of us either off the shelf or made up.
I'll update as I think of it.

Ak-47 is easier to get by your contact

Likewise an automatic pistol for each of us
No problem.

Body armour if possible
That's more tricky

Ammunition for all of the above
Sure

GPS gear x3

Satellite Phone/phones

Half a dozen burner phones (disposable mobiles)
The contact can get them

We should be able to bring decent cameras into the country as part of our tourist cover, but decent telephoto lenses are likely to draw attention (being mistaken as journalists is as bad as being mistaken as spies)
Agreed: normal cameras will pass, true professional will be bad.

Camping and hiking kit we can/should bring as part of our tourist cover.
Yes

Decent trauma kits for all of us either off the shelf or made up.

Re: OOC

by kabukiman
The weapons don't have anything to do with what you will find: you asked for weapons, you got them.

Each of you, have a budget of 1000$. BUT you can use bargain to get a better price, with a bonus of 20% (because one of you know actually arab, and you have left a good impression). Each of you can roll bargain for each product you want (so, if one of you want a makarov, and a ak-47, he will roll twice). If you fail the roll, you will buy by the price they asked. But if you succeed, the price will decrease in 10%. Then, in another turn, you can try to bargain again; if you succeed, another discount of 10% (from the new price, not the original one); if you fail, you don't get any new discount. And this will continue until you failed all the rolls.
Is this clear?

Re: OOC

So my understanding of the way Delta Green works is it goes all out to ensure the nature of our world and the existence of the mythos remains a secret. Which means as the Students and the students have all been exposed to the mythos we need to a) persuade them they didn't see what they thought they saw - extremely difficult. b) Dispose of their dead bodies in the desert.

Now I'm playing my Character as being the hardened CIA contractor who will do whatever he thinks is right for the 'mission' but I want to hear what others have to say.

Under certain circumstances, we could propose that Dr Fritz be considered a "friendly" but I don't think he really fits that description.

Re: OOC

Posted: Fri Jul 28, 2017 2:45 am
by Mr. Handy
We may be cold and ruthless at times, but we're not MJ-12. Perhaps we can come up with a plausible cover story for what happened, like the whole thing was a hoax and a publicity stunt, the creatures are just guys in monster suits, and so on.

Re: OOC

Posted: Fri Jul 28, 2017 11:28 am
by kabukiman
Fritz and his brother are greedy, ambitious and lack normal ethics... but they are not cultists (they are actually the opposite, true believers in science). That's your decision.
It's the same with the kids.

Re: OOC

Posted: Fri Jul 28, 2017 11:31 pm
by ghill
I think that works for the boys maybe, but not really Dr Fritz who clearly belibelieves what his brother says.

Re: OOC

Posted: Sat Jul 29, 2017 5:48 am
by Mr. Handy
Yeah, we can deal with Fritz in some other way if he can't be convinced, but I'd rather not kill the kids. Maybe we can appeal to his scientific nature and convince him that there is no scientific proof of these claims, and that as a scientist he shouldn't accept them without said proof.

Briefing 1: “Yesterday, the Portuguese government informed us that an American citizen had been killed in their territory. They say it had been by some wild dog; the body had been found 3 days ago, but they had some difficulty to identify it. For sanitary reasons they had to burn the body and they have already found and killed the dog. The local news says there is a panic, and everyone is killing dogs on the spot, because they are afraid that tourism may be affected. Well, this is at least the official version.”
He pauses, drinks a bit of coffee and then continues:
“I have a contact in the Portuguese army. He made some inquiries and discovered that most of it is false. They basically killed the first dog they found and claimed it was the responsible. And my contact saw the first report of the autopsy: the body seemed to be digested by some acid and they found a black substance that seemed to move. That’s the real reason to burn the body. Any questions?”
He return to his coffee.

We went to Portugal where we discovered an orphanage where some kind of eugenics experiments were being conducted we followed the orphanage's director and saved him from a orphan who summoned some kind of black goo. The Director was arrested and handed over to A Cell. To other names were identified Alhireth-Othep and Cornelius Krammer.

Debried info: "We discovered also some interesting things about the two remaining associates. The Dutch has degree in medicine, he was a plastic surgeon in the 60's very famous. But then he changed his field. Or maybe not, since he was trying to develop some new technique that wasn't considered safe. And he travel a lot. I have some photos here to show you. About the other guy: until he creates the company he is non existent. We don't have a photo of him, no record. And with the 80's he stopped moving. He lives here in the USA in a mansion. But I discovered something interesting: he managed to create a lab there. And even better, there is not a single camera there. It seems a bit odd, isn't it?"

"Cornelius, was financing an archaeology expedition in Egypt. South of Egypt in the desert. He has also a brother, some guy who got rich with the diamond business. I wonder why a geneticist would be so interested in digging old places. Oh, but you will find this even more interesting: even if it is all legal, it's also very secret. He paid that expedition from his own pocket and tried to avoid any contact with his own company, like if he didn't wanted that his subordinates... or associates knew what he was doing. What do you think?"

We went to Egypt where we discovered and disrupted the dig which was being led by Dr Fritz Kramer brother of Cornelius he was following clues given to him by his brother who reckoned Alhireth-Othep is a snake man. Now we are here.

I'm enjoying it too. I keep feeling like we were missing something in "The City of Seth," that we didn't discover everything there was to find.

I enjoyed it but I felt rather lost and overall it felt unnecessary. It didn't feel like we discovered anything important. Clearly, we were already suspicious of Ophep and would have investigated him so all I can tell is we found out he 'might' be a Snake Man which doesn't really change our likely course of action.

Well, it's probably because I have decide to eliminate several scenes and characters, I was afraid that the story would get very complicated and too long: I guess I was wrong.

Nothing wrong with that. Although in this case, I was like Mr Handy wondering what we were missing or when matters were going to suddenly take off.

Still enjoying myself though :D

I'm very sorry, I was out in holidays and only recently returned, but I discovered that my computer wasn't working. If you don't mind, we can resume now.
