Yes, as Quatermass said. Strength test 3d6 and Diana has 1 Focus so she can reroll 1d6.

@Diana, well done with the Doom. Staying on for another Expedition is probably a good idea, but let's wait and see what misfortune the Mythos card brings.

@Tony (and Marie) have had a lot of bad luck. :(

Will post Mythos Phase tomorrow.

Norman will rest and then move to the Pyramids to try and close the gate. Tony needs to go to the Heart of Africa to collect the Eldritch Token there.

I'll stay first player if that's ok.

I knew Thomas, Research Student, was a bad 'un, just knew it.

Diana, I'd suggest she gain 1 Focus / cast Banishment / Rest; encounter the Expedition?

OK I think Diana will have an easy round in prep for her next expedition. She will focus and rest and contemplate all the terrible things she had done to the puppy population.

My plan is to Focus (so I can use the Handcuffs) and then Travel to the Heart of Africa and finish off the Mystery before the Cultist gets too tough to cuff.

Yes, I like it, but it makes me wish for an official app, with art--which is what I love. Now, I'd buy that! Good find, how did you hear of the app?

We played against the Rise of the Elder Things with six players.

We had Leo Anderson the expedition leader, Ursula Downs the explorer, Norman Withers the astronomer, Silas Marsh the sailor, Diana Stanley the redeemed cultist, and Mark Harrigan the solider.

Our prelude card let everyone start with a clue and a focus but there was a accelerated doom track mechanic.

The first mystery required us to go to Lake Camp and make a lore check if successful we needed to spend a clue and discard a ally. We needed to do this six times. So most of us rushed down to the Antarctic. What really helped was Mark Harrigan got a Mi-go Brain Case so we could swap characters and possessions in and out of the Antarctic and the main board. The Crawling Chaos Epic monster appeared in the Himalayas.

The second mystery required us to defeat a Crazed Elder Thing Epic monster in the Miskatonic Camp. But first we needed to find the Alien Device artifact to be able to hurt it. Luckly we found one right away.

The third mystery saw us close three gates which was easy.

We stopped after that but looking at the fourth mystery we could have easily done it in two turns. Though the last mythos card killed two of our characters.

It was very fun.

@Quatermass, sounds fun. Last pbp game, we had the same Mystery, the Crazed Elder Thing one, and solved it too--not as tough to solve as it first seemed. :) How does the game play with 6, slow?

Just saw this, it's Marie on piano:

Six players a couple where new. It ran pretty smoothly once we did a few turns. 3 - 4 hours or so and had about 2 more turns to do to finish.

Nice turn :) (excepting Marie); Diana gained 2 Clues, together with Norman we have 4 Clues (2 must be spent if there is another Mythos card with a Reckoning effect--to halt the "Web Between Worlds" Rumor); Norman closed the Gate and that prevented the Doom advancing; Tony placed the 4th Eldritch token on the Mystery. It is now solved and the 2nd one is:

Turn 8 plan?

Marie can't do a lot, just flip LiTaS Condition as an encounter.

@DSIGFUSS, now is the time to encounter Mystic Ruins at space 7.

Norman can spend a sanity in place of a clue so that should help with the spider. Will my Stone Tablet count for the mystery if it is flipped?

I forgot about Norman's Clue for Sanity ability, in that case, should we take advantage of it now? And the new Mystery has a set order, Research Encounter first, then spend Clue from that encounter to gain Relic, flip Relic to place Eldritch token, and 4 Eldritch tokens to solve the Mystery.
